Another house that's used for short stays which could become a home instead, thus contributing to the community. I may have this wrong and it may be a home at some point. Not a fan of this soulless way of making money.

Highly recommend these cottages, we stayed in Skylark Cottage. Very well appointed, good quality furnishings, the cottage has everything you need for a good and restful holiday from a home away from home kitchen with dishwasher and chopping blocks and knives to a lounge area with extremely comfy sofas and a large tv and for a cosy night a log burner with a basket of logs. Laura and her mum have really thought of everything. A safe enclosed garden with donkeys peering over the fence to greet you every morning and stunning countryside views. We found the cottage ideally located for day trips to Bamburgh (the most stunning beach we?ve seen in England! Plus the castle) plus the beautiful Holy Island and also we visited Edinburgh and North Berwick in Scotland too. So much to do, even our dog enjoyed the holiday too. Ideal place if you have children too as they?ve even built a full sized safe and enclosed play park for children with swings, climbing frames, see-saws and other equipment. We can?t recommend this place highly enough, thanks Laura (oh and the fresh eggs were a real treat thank you!).

We have been staying at Thornton farm for several years and stayed in every cottage, upon leaving we cant wait to come back ? we usually stay at least twice a year think this year breaks the record six stays ?The area is rural peaceful and lovely views you will never tire of.Dog friendly and I think my dogs would know how to get there on their own! Theres some lovely walks on the door step and not far to the coast. All of the cottages are very comfortable, clean and very well equipped you want for nothing. Lovely log burners and wifi even a washer & drier. The gardens are great and fully enclosed for doggies. The cottages provide lot of information with regards to places to visit, eating out and is only a 10 minute drive into Berwick. Laura and family are very welcoming approachable should you need anything and go out of their way to ensure you have a lovely holiday.

Booked this place months ago after my partner found it on the Internet. Booked directly with our host Laura who is absolutely lovely. We spent a week there and found it to be absolutely charming. The cottage was spotlessly clean and Laura had provided absolutely everything we could think of to make our stay perfect, as well as providing a great welcome pack along with some wild flowers to greet us. It is warm and cosy and very well presented. Everything is of a good quality and we liked the bedding so much we have bought similar for ourselves. It is totally dog friendly and Laura had recommended lots of places to visit - Cheswick sands is a must. All in all a great place for exploring the borders and very much worth considering - we liked it so much we are hoping to book one of the larger cottages for next year.

Our third stay at this wonderful cottage, Laura is a fantastic host and the cottage is fantastic. There is a playground for the kids, donkeys and horses in the field that backs on to the cottage garden which my daughter loved feeding. There is everything you need in the cottage itself and it's wonderfully quiet but only 10 mins from Berwick-upon-Tweed and all the shops and amenities.

We've just got back from a long overdue family holiday staying at Wagtail Cottage. I'm always unsure if holiday rentals will be as good as the pictures look but this place was brilliant. I literally can't fault the place; warm and cosy whilst also being very spacious, everything you could need in the kitchen, lovely showers and bath, comfy beds, fantastic views, a great little play park for the kids and you can visit the donkeys. The cottages are 5 minutes drive off the A1, 10 minutes drive from Berwick Town centre, 15-20 mins to Lindisfarne holy island, and 25 minutes to Bamburgh Castle. Some great gems we found locally are Cheswick Sands; beautiful wide sandy beach and so quiet! We had the place to ourselves. Norham Castle; an amazing castle ruins that you can go inside, up 500 year old spiral staircases and very informative of its history, free parking and free to enter. St Cuthberts Cave; a nice steady country walk to a beautiful Cave in the woodland. Great for a picnic. The Plough On The Hill is a lovely pub for food and drinks only 5 minutes drive away, easily accessible by bike or walking. Thank you, Laura for having us. We can't wait to come again one day

Warm, cosy and spacious cottage. Relaxing, quiet and easy to find. The owner is friendly and helpful. Lovely surroundings and very convenient for checking out the local area as well.
