What an absolute pleasure it was to discover this gem of a cafe. The two ladies there made us really welcome, the coffee is to die for and the cakes were delicious and plentiful. Next time we go for a stroll along the battlements, The Lookout Cafe will definatley be on our route for a snack break.

We visited the Lookout on our walk around Berwick. What a hidden gem! We had a latte and sandwiches , Both were delicious ? Excellent service and although we couldn?t take our dog in, the lovely lady sat us just inside the tunnel of the castle wall as it had started to rain. The cakes looked fantastic, but we were too full from our sandwiches to test them. I would highly recommend

A little gem tucked away by the rivers edge. The buns and cakes are amazing! Perfect for a quiet coffee or tea.

Enjoyed a very nice coffee and homemade shortbread overlooking the river watching the seabirds. Lovely friendly ladies serving. Its tucked away on the quayside under the old bridge but we'll worth a visit.

Superb find, stopped for coffee and cake and it was lovely. Limited seating, with dome outside mainly taken with dog owners, some more seating inside up steep stairs. Service was friendly and a small selection of cakes and also lite bites. Cake and coffee were all superb quality and tasty. We had Malteser cake, Mars crunch and wonderful carrot cake. Good view over the river and parking close by. Would definitely go again.

Under new management for past 6 months - Excellent seafood: we had crab sandwiches and Thai crayfish salad, glass of chilled rosé, latte, excellent espresso. Fresh, superb. Outdoor seating which proved ideal for us since we had our spaniel in tow. Dog treats available. Friendly and efficient staff. Impressive location.

After thirty years of prayer, we can finally eat seafood on Berwick?s quayside. The Lookout Cafe at the Berwick end of the 400 year old bridge has reopened under new ownership in recent months, with indoor and outdoor tables. Open 10am to 4pm Monday to Saturday, caterer Ruth and her team are offering soups including seafood chowder, quiche, crayfish or crab salads and a wide range of sandwiches and home made tray bakes, coffees, teas, soft drinks and wine?what an experience, seated on the Elizabethan Quayside, enjoying crayfish salad with a glass of wine beside the famous River Tweed.

Called in for a cake and coffee for a break from our walking about town. We had the carrot cake and the border tart and both were amazing. The coffee was excellent too. Staff very friendly and the views great. Nice to sit and watch the world go by for a while.

A lovely place to sit at side of riverbank especially on a warm sunny day, have enjoyed lunch, an afternoon tea with Scone and coffee or a cool refreshment there in the past but give 5 stars for Service given today with brunch takeaway, the quayside tables were full but there is a few benches to sit on in cobbled area near cafe, lovely kindness shown in carrying the takeaway to a benchVegetarian options: Offer vegetarian savoury Bakes and Quiches, ie cheese broccoli potatoKid-friendliness: Seating under parasols outside at side of river so parental control necessary with younger childrenParking: There is parking on quaysideWheelchair accessibility: From parking area there is a pathway leading to cafe (which is below the Old Bridge) an area of cobbles when you leave path

Just came across this lovely little cafe as we were strolling on the quayside. There were a few tables outside so we really enjoyed sitting in the (warmish!) sunshine. Service was efficient and friendly, and the coffee was absolutely delicious, one of the best I?ve had. The coffee is from Holy Island. The cakes were very tempting and tasty too. Highly recommend this spotless cafe.
