We booked this hotel for a two night stay in March 2025. The hotel is only a short walk from the town centre and very close to the railway station , so it's ideally placed for the historic sites and the town. The staff were very friendly, breakfast was very good and our room was comfortable and had what we needed and nothing more. Car parking is on the main street, but that's no problem, there's plenty of space (at least there was for us) . I'd definitely visit again????
Rooms: Basic, but clean and comfortable.
Nearby activities: City walls, historic sites , pubs, bars etc all in easy walking distance. Good bar in the hotel ??
Safety: Adequate
Walkability: Hotel itself has stairs and split levels. I didn't see an elevator. Outside, everything you want is within walking distance.
Food and drinks: I only had breakfast, which was great . You can upgrade to cooked breakfast, but I found no need ??
Noteworthy details: The hotel did not appear to be disabled friendly, but maybe I wasn't looking hard enough, but there are numerous steps and stairs. Understand this is a 2 star hotel and my review reflects the rating.

The worst value for food I have ever experienced and I am 70 year old. .
£7 for 5 mushrooms is a joke.
Service is shocking,
Never again.

I visited the hotel only for a night due to a meeting I had to attend the following day in the town. The location of the hotel was perfect just opposite the train station and the person at the reception was very friendly. As I arrived just before 9 pm I questioned if the restaurant was still open in order to have some dinner but they informed me that restaurant closed at 19.30?! I thought it is too early and I had never experienced it in any other hotel. Once I joined the room there was a funny smell coming out from the bathroom and the room was super cold even though the heating was slightly on. Especially inside the bathroom I was freezing so I had to take a shower very quickly and jump inside the bed in order to warm up myself which isn?t very relaxing after hours of travelling. Lastly the following day even though my company?s reservation was breakfast included, in the morning I had been given the choice of complimentary breakfast only which was very very limited. Not even to mention that the check out was 10 am and the cleaners were speaking loudly outside of my room since 9 am stressing me out while just 5 minutes before 10 am I heard them saying ?come on people 10 am is the checking out time? which I can definitely say it is not the way any hotel should perform. Overall it was a disappointing visit and I would never come back.

I booked this hotel w/ Expedia, which I've done many times at many hotels. This is the worst experience I've ever had dealing with a hotel.
There was one had no one to check me in. I waited and walked around premises for hours & found no one. Eventually it got late & I didn't want to sleep in the street, so I found and paid for another hotel (which by that time, only left me with very expensive options)
If that's how you do business & are short of staff, ok, but it's not ok to not refund my money when you provided zero service.... especially if you allow customers to book & pay for rooms at your hotel for the night when you've already closed reception/check ins for that day.
Also, the phone number on my booking details was incorrect, so I had no way to call anyone at the hotel myself at that time.
Since then, they've been contacted multiple times and have so far refused to refund. This is immoral and not how you do business.
If this is how they do business, they deserve the failure that appears to be in their future.

Not great for food somewhat mediocre with limited menu. It's a town pub.

Single bed room absolutely abysmal . Like a prison cell and no windows to look out of . I?d be embarrassed charging £90 for it .
Got seated for breakfast but no one came over to take any order for hot food . Totally ignored so ended up with a bowl of cereal .
Wish I could score less than a 1 star as 1 is being extremely generous .

Very friendly staff, nice and clean rooms and a good stay for Berwick and the area. Close to the train station too.

Can't comment on the rooms as I only popped in to the bar section while waiting for my train yesterday - excellent service and good location, not too expensive considering the location either.

Our 2nd time here in 2 months. Dog friendly..both couples had a dog. Fantastic location, ideal for mainline train station and buses to Scotland! Eyemouth worth a visit.
Very friendly and helpful staff. We arrived at 1pm and had arranged to leave luggage, but rooms were ready so could book in 3 hours early, which was a bonus!
Immaculate rooms, very spacious with lovely comfy beds.Excellent freshly cooked breakfasts. We ate in a separate room to restaurant, so that our dogs could be with us for breakfast. Absolutely perfect hotel if you're bringing your dog with you. Would highly recommend this hotel and we'll be back soon.
