“Crown & Anchor is located near the Holy Island castle. Delicious food. Local drinks. Good size room with a view. Staff welcoming and helpful.
You can enjoy lovely walks around not only around the castle. We were fortunate enough to see family of roe deer and many types of birds.

Rooms: Rooms are above the pub but still relatively quiet. Good size room with bathroom including shower. A comfortable mattress so we had a good night's sleep ?

Walkability: Lots of different walks around from visiting local castle to beach walks and nature walk trials.

Food and drinks: Food very tasty. We truly enjoyed fish & chips and delicious cakes. Highly recommended. Booking suggested to ensure you have a table as pub isn't very big but very popular.”

“Great wee pub / bed and breakfast hotel. Rooms are comfy and well appointed, clean and bathroom/shower was good. Breakfast was made to order, there's a vegetarian option and decent choice.

Only critique I would offer is that there weren't any blackout curtains in the room we stayed in which meant in July it got dark late and light quite early. If you can't sleep with an eye mask like myself it meant a bit of tough going.

Staff were great. Super friendly.

Ah! Don't miss out the wee guide that is left on the bed for the area. Wish we'd seen it first! Contains valuable local info including tide times for Holy Island.”

“Ate here, as the accomodation we stayed at wasn't serving food. Food not the cheapest, but boy was it good. Fresh produce, cooked to perfection!. I would never normally have a burger at a restaurant, but this was superb!!!!

“Without doubt the best vegan breakfasts I’ve had. Lots of choice, all of it good. I really loved the crumpets, but Karen will talk you through all the options & make fresh to order.

“Had another fantastic stay at Skylark Cottage. Adults, kids and dogs have had the best time. We have been staying here for years and always look forward to coming back. Cottages are immaculate and Laura is a very kind host. Would very highly recommend.”

“My second time staying at this hotel. Room was huge with modern bathroom and super comfy bed and linens. Sunday roast was fabulous and breakfast every day was awesome. 5 star to the staff. So helpful, friendly and could do enough for us. Will be back for sure.”

“I want to start this by saying Simon is an amazing person inside and out, this time around was our second stay here at the island view inn, and Simon made our stay so comfortable, he gave us great recommendations for places to visit, he is warm and welcoming, the place it’s self is just perfect. The beds wow they’re so comfortable I had a sold 8 hours sleep and didn't want to get out of bed! The rooms are so spotless & modern. My daughter also loved her stay here and the hoteliers really make it the most perfect stay. The breakfast was gorgeous, the views are breathtaking & we will definitely be coming back very soon! “I stayed at the Berwick Travelodge last weekend. I was greeted by Donna, who was just downright amazing. Not being from the area, she gave me a rundown of where to find local restaurant's and entertainment. She was pleasant and courteous. 10/10 for her advice and would gladly stay again.”

“We booked this hotel for a two night stay in March 2025. The hotel is only a short walk from the town centre and very close to the railway station , so it's ideally placed for the historic sites and the town. The staff were very friendly, breakfast was very good and our room was comfortable and had what we needed and nothing more. Car parking is on the main street, but that's no problem, there's plenty of space (at least there was for us) . I'd definitely visit again????

Rooms: Basic, but clean and comfortable.

Nearby activities: City walls, historic sites , pubs, bars etc all in easy walking distance. Good bar in the hotel ??

Safety: Adequate

Walkability: Hotel itself has stairs and split levels. I didn't see an elevator. Outside, everything you want is within walking distance.

Food and drinks: I only had breakfast, which was great . You can upgrade to cooked breakfast, but I found no need ??

Noteworthy details: The hotel did not appear to be disabled friendly, but maybe I wasn't looking hard enough, but there are numerous steps and stairs. Understand this is a 2 star hotel and my review reflects the rating.”

“What a great night, we popped in here after the waiter at limoncello recommended. We enjoyed a few drinks. My friends and I had great laugh when they bring out the big red button when you buy a drink to generate 1. If you get 10% off 2. If you get it for free 3. You have to pay. Well we got 10% off then the next we got a free round, what a great laugh. Staff were so friendly hi fives all round when we got our free round. Simple customer service bonus. Keep up the good work. The only reason not five stars is the toilet just me being picky I think. ?”

“Excellent experience at Eat and Sleep Lindisfarne. The rooms were clean and well-maintained, the staff was welcoming and helpful, and the location is ideal for exploring Holy Island. The on-site café served a great breakfast, and shared facilities like the kitchen and lounge were well-equipped. A comfortable and affordable stay, highly recommended for solo travellers or anyone visiting the area.”

“Love this place. Come here in the motor home now and again as it's only an hour away. Great views and a nice little bar as well as a restaurant serving breakfast, lunch and dinner.”

“We came here on Wednesday 6th Aug 2025 we come every year to holy island from haggerston castle where we stay everything was lovely the food the atmosphere it was really busy too but nothing was too much trouble we will be back next year and thank you”
