Booked this place as part of a surprise weekend for the hubby to be's 50th Birthday.We had the studio apartment, it was lovely the pictures online don't do it justice.Bed was super comfy, the apartment was clean and warm and cosy.Had breakfast the following morning which definitely set us up for the day .. I had the goats cheese and pepper omelette which was super thick and fluffy and filled me for the day.The other half had full English which was amazing. The sausages were very tasty and eggs cooked to perfection.Small village 5 mins away if you need any bits and 20-25 mins from Kielder forest.Definitely recommend staying here if you're visiting the birds of prey or the observatory.

WONDERFUL PLACE!!fabulous team that work thereRoom was perfect and very cleanBreakfast served was hot and very good.nice quality sausages and hash browns,with great nature views!They even have some chickens and geese which was lovely as they don't even move as its there home,which makes great close up pictures available to take.We was looked after very well and I cannot wait until I return.To be honest i could live there very easily, and would love too.Niel the owner will happily do what he can if there is any special requirement needs.What an excellent experience I had there truly I did.P.s see attachment geese pictures!Really miss it already if I'm honest and I was only there a week ago.Got the holiday blues already grrrrr.Highly recommended but feel free to try yourself, situated near kelder forest with Hexham and Billingham Close to pop into for bits and shopping.Thankyou niel and the team. Tempura prawns to start. Wife had lamb dinner and I had beef. All were beautifully cooked and presented. The puddings finished us off just nicely. Couple of lovely ipa?s to wash it down. Recommend if in area or passing.

We were slightly disappointed by our stay here. Although the pitch we had itself was nice the facilities weren?t so great.Toilets and showers weren?t very well cleaned and could do with some improvements. The bar/restaurant area looks nice although we didn?t try it out ourselves.

After our visit in June we returned here in July for another beautiful Sunday lunch. Once again loads of beef,veg and home made Yorkshire puddings. Very relaxing atmosphere and friendly staff. Well worth a visit of you are in the area.

Booked last minute for Sunday lunch. They managed to squeeze us in,even though.. it was a busy Father's day. Staff were pleasant and seen to us quickly. The beef was tender and the veg was fresh. Excellent value for our money! Thank you!

We visited this restaurant 12 months ago whilst on holiday in Northumberland and it was fantastic, the service, the food and surroundings were all fabulous. So much so on our return to the North East, we booked again. What a mistake! We were met by a very grumpy member of staff who clearly didn't want to be there. His first comment was - I can't take your order straight away as I've put in a massive order into the kitchen just now! There was one other table occupied in the whole restaurant. His mood did not get any better throughout the evening. Even if you're having a bad day, it doesn't cost anything to be polite and courteous. The food also was just not of the same standard. No idea if the chef was off that evening but we will certainly not be returning.

We were staying on the onsite campsite, so took advantage of the restaurant. We were glad we did, so the food was super. Good value and very tasty. I'd highly recommend it.

Delicious food, a hearty meal and a warm welcome.. we?re staying locally on holiday and found the restaurant by luck.. would definitely recommend and will come again when in the beautiful county of Northumberland

Heavily over priced for drinks.... Mini prosecco which they'd purchased from a well known super market chain, they charged £10.... 80% mark up... Dirty bar and outside area littered with cigarette ends... Prices more expensive than Central London.... As a local there are much much nicer places for food and drinks close by where you won't be ripped off by greedy owners.

The location is great, beautiful views. The facilities are questionable, toilet didn't flush, one was out of order, shower has nowhere to hang your clothes, you end up in the middle of the block having to dress infront of others. Nowhere to put your rubbish or wash your cutlery/crockery. What really bothered me was the restaurant, the 2 young ladies that served us were very polite but when the staff disappear after serving your food, you know something is wrong. The manager (and I use this word loosely) asked if I wanted more than half of my pizza boxed, when I replied no he didn't even ask if everything was ok. The pizza was disgusting, over topped with cheese and greasy. Rice was under cooked. I've had a food establishment myself in the past and it's clear there is no pride left at the boe rigg which is a great shame because it could be stunning. I don't mind paying extra for quality but would advise him to move his display fridge and clean away all the dust and flies underneath it. A 5 star hygiene rating is easy to get but shouldn't be difficult to upkeep. I have to repeat that the staff were very polite and helpful, unfortunately let down by bad management.

Just had an excellent meal all prepared fresh and in a lovely surrounding with perfect warm and friendly staff - excellent service from Linda and others. Brilliant food, great beer or wine and just a very relaxing atmosphere. Would thoroughly recommend this place for a lovely night and the food was first class. Burger was the best and Thai food exquisite. Will definitely be back again.
