On behalf of my wife She applied for account October 22 ,after a while we went into the Morpeth branch ,to see what was happening, the man who dealt with us excellent, couldn?t ask for more ,he took some further details so as to get it sorted. Later got a letter to say ,don?t want you or words to that effect, ok as they are as slow as ditch water at HO we accept itBy my mistake we transferred some funds to the temp Account ,I left it till I had time to sort .NC have to day retuned it 3/03 couple of months later. My wife has never been in debt ,welched on anything or had a criminal record, perhaps you can only qualify for an account with Newcastle if you have???

Over the years I had begun to dread dealing with any financial institution finding them to be at best off hand and at worst rude and obstructive. I started to visit the Alnwick branch of the Newcastle building society to help my mother who has Alzheimer's with her affairs. To my surprise I have found all the staff in this branch to be superb! Helpful advice from Greg got me on the right track straight away, and since then despite many problematic situations I have found all the staff have a really positive 'can do' attitude! I really can't praise them highly enough, they have made a very difficult time deal-able with . I hope the ' big bosses' appreciate what gems they have in Alnwick.
