Went to the café for breakfast which was delicious, fast service despite it being very busy and friendly staff. We also returned for lunch later in our holiday, sandwich and cake also very tasty. Highly recommended

Excellent food which not exaggerating on the plates. I had ordered sandwiches, jacket potato?s and a ploughmen?s lunch. All delicious especially the plough supper, I really enjoy the cheese pieces on the plate which fresh made and tasty. The staff are polite and helpful and low profile. Lovely little shop. The prices are also very reasonable as well.

Grabbed a seat outside as we were passing by looking for a place to eat. 1st impressions were good, nice little cafe and plenty people eating.
As no one was able to give us menu?s I went to the counter to ask for a couple. We were told its table service and someone will be with us to take our order - perfectly normal..!
We read through the menu (not a big menu at all) and decided what we wanted. Just needed someone to serve us??.
We waited 13 minutes to be asked our order, in which time a staff member had time for a fag and a blether with her friends, took 2 orders from tables that came in AFTER us plus cleaned some tables for fresh customers arriving.
We decided to leave politely and go to The Tavern instead. Much better service and nicer atmosphere.
We felt unwelcome and not a priority at Melvyns and I doubt we will give them a 2nd chance! Very poor customer service.

Extremely popular and busy cafe. The favourite dish seemed to be the All Day Breakfast! Bacon rolls came with plenty of bacon too.

Came here at the end of our holiday for a quick breakfast. The full English was really good and the vegetarian one came with really good vegetarian sausages.

Serious well known wasp problem. Mediocre somewhat tasteless expensive food. Cute little cafe though, but very tight.

I?ve been here many times with my husband for coffee and lunch. We love the ambiance?especially sitting outside when the weather?s nice. The staff are always lovely, and service is quick. It?s also a popular spot with tourists, which speaks to its charm. Definitely recommended if you?re in the area!

Excellent pleasant service. A great stop in breaking one's A1 journey.

The interior of Melvyn?s Cafe is tastefully decorated, creating a cosy and stylish atmosphere that makes you want to linger.
I ordered a panini with tuna, cheese, and red onion ? the filling was generous and full of flavour. The combination was well-balanced, with the richness of the cheese complementing the savoury tuna and the slight sharpness of the red onion.
To go with it, I had an Americano. The coffee was excellent ? rich and aromatic, with a deep, full-bodied flavour. It wasn?t acidic at all, just smooth and satisfying, with a lovely lingering fragrance.
Overall, a delightful little spot worth visiting.

The food was good enough but if the owner is reading this might I suggest he or she discourages the staff from petting dogs outside and allowing dogs to lick their hands I witnessed this twice in a short time.

I had a brie panini. Wife had a ploughman's. I was jealous of the ploughman's despite my panini being good.
Then had some scones. Scones were odd. Tasted of cinnamon.
