“We have a static caravan at Wooler and decided to try somewhere different for some food and drinks. What a beautiful pub and location! The lady behind the bar was absolutely lovely and made us feel comfortable, they really couldn’t do enough. We ordered a range of food from the children’s menu, main and specials and they were all delicious and really good quality. The service was great and the girl had a lovely personality. We would definitely come back with friends and family.”

“Have stayed at the hogs head for the last 3 nights. We have stayed in an inn collection group hotels over the years at new year which have been very good. Hence continue to stay. Our disappointment with hogs head in particular was food. Main meals were ok and new year was good although very rushed which in some ways spoilt evening. The breakfasts felt disorganised and food cold had to ask for it to be heated. That type of food is not pleasant when cold. Poached eggs or should I say hard boiled eggs tasted heavily of vinegar. So sad after years of loyalty. Think we will look elsewhere nest year. Staff bar 1 were disinterest especially at breakfast and at times quite vacant when asked questions. I am disabled and asked this morning for a breakfast with poached eggs and was told that they could do poached eggs and I had to get the rest from buffet. I did this on our 1st morning and it was not a problem. Feel very sad”

“Simply wonderful. Tucked away in a quiet, protected traditional fishing village The Joiners is an utter delight for those seeking something a little out of the ordinary and surprising. Food is absolutely delicious - Chicken Skewers must be tasted to be believed. Fresh fish, sourced locally in portions suitable to sustain the almost obligatory walk along a stunning coastline. Will definitely be returning many more times.”
