Recently spent a fabulous weekend in Golflinks Hotel and can only say it should be awarded 4 stars not just 3! All staff from front desk . to bar staff and restaurant staff were amazingly welcoming friendly helpful,, nothing is too much trouble. Atmosphere is relaxed, particularly loved the real fire being lit each evening in the Library bar adding to the ambiance also the comfortable sofas and armchairs to the front of the hotel by the large windows , lovely for a quiet read , chat and drink . The Bistro meal and the Breakfast were both so delicious and plenty to choose from the menus .. our room was spotless and bed so comfortable , large windows looking across to golf course little seating area great coffee machine and tea facilities in room , beautiful bathroom with great shower,, we just couldn?t find any fault ,, we will certainly be booking again , MK Newry Co DownRooms: Fabulous spotless extremely comfortable mattress and pillows. Third time in two weeks in the Bistro for food ? They have 50% off Mon-Thurs in September. We've had a variety of food. Highly recommend the cottage pie. That's a must. Chicken penne pasta also v good. Not so keen on the duck. For me as a veggie I only really have 4 options: spicy bean burger, gnocchi, cheese pizza or brie and fig pizza. Haven't had the cheese pizza yet but the rest are really good.Stretched our tummy's last night and had dessert. Lots were sold out with popularity, but I managed to get my hands on Pavlova. OMG it was soooo good! I'd miss the dinner next time and just get two desserts ?The menu is online on their website and it has a good variety for meat eaters to choose from. Hard to pick which is why we've been back so much!!Staff have been super friendly and attentive every time. Seats well laid out with dividers. Love the interior. There is a cosy homely feel to it with lots of maps and photos of Portrush.I do recommend pre-booking as they're really busy.Update Jan 2022:Couldn't resist the 50% off in January so back we came. Honestly, the food was exceptional tonight. Hubby said it was the best rump steak he'd ever had in his life. Cooked to perfection. My gnocchi was super good as always. Strawberry cheesecake to finish off with. Delicious.Pic is of the Eton mess I had last week.Definitely recommended.PS Just checked my Google maps timeline and we've been over 15 times in <5 months. Enough said!!!!January 2024:2 pizzas, 2 sides and 2 drinks for £20. Fantastic service. The place has had a makeover and it's fabulous. Really lovely.Pizzas were tasty. Would recommend no bother.

French couple visiting the region we chose this hotel for its proximity to the Giant's Causeway. The room: more than adequate, however a mountain of dust on the headboard would have got the better of allergic guests and a little effort on cleaning the bathroom joints would not have gone amiss. (I do not dwell on the management of hot/cold water which is more than approximate throughout the country). The restaurant: we appreciated being able to benefit from a quiet corner to dine with our baby away from the main restaurant room which was quite noisy. What we liked less were the exorbitant prices on the menu for really not crazy dishes: £19 for the fish soup (where we were looking for the soup by the way), few dishes below £20, the most expensive dish bottom of the card £17?Not to mention the rather particular tastes of our Anglo-Saxon hosts: peas, carrots, cinnamon????Fairly slow service.Breakfast, pancakes not homemade too bad?In short, the hotel why not, the restaurant is no.

Excellent service and food, breakfast was super and our evening meal was very good, only slight complaint was that the burger was a little overcooked but the starters and the fish were spot on. Room was small and quite warm but well serviced with plenty of facilities and a great shower. Bed was very comfortable. Overall, we were very happy with our stay and would recommend the Golflinks.

We were very excited to be staying at this hotel on our visit to Portrush. Hotel and restaurant are very modern. Although we were visiting in late September, service in the restaurant was very slow probably due to staff shortages to handle the volume of customers. Bar staff and front desk staff had to pitch in to ease the load. Food was great. Stayed in Room 11 on third floor. Although it had a great view of Royal Portrush golf course, the layout was very tight. Room is not a typical square shaped layout. It was obtuse in design and very tight when you add the king size bed. NotMuch room to layout two suitcases. One thing to point out is the huge development of mobile homes being built on property. The adjacent area is surrounded by mobile homes and this hotel and restaurant will be the epicentre.Rooms: See reviewNoteworthy details: See review
