“I've moved from Dublin to Northern Ireland and quickly discovered that opening a bank account is a pain in the bum.Nationwide made a dog's dinner of my application and wasted my time in the most unprofessional and unsympathetic manner.Danske Bank informed me that they have lots of awkward barriers that make it borderline impossible for new residents to open an account. After trying Halifax (this branch in Newtownabbey) I was able to open an account without any stressful drama. The staff I interacted with (3 female professionals) were very nice and friendly. Opening a current account was easy, straightforward and not too time-consuming (it took about 30 minutes). My account was ready for use immediately after I got signed up. Right away I got access to online banking. All I really needed for my application was a passport.I look forward to banking with Halifax and I'd like to thank the nice friendly staff at Newtownabbey for the pleasant deportment while interacting with me.It would be that bit better if the phone service improved and if the bank stayed open until later than 3pm, but I won't knock them for those flaws.”

“I have just come across the low review rating, and some negative reviews on this branch. In my experience, I have never seen or experienced the staff in Glengormley failing to provide anything other than first-class service.

Always friendly, efficient, professional and courteous, they deliver exactly what I, as a long-term customer, require. I do not understand the negativity of some reviewers and, having used other banks and building societies in the past, have no hesitation in recommending this branch.”

“In branch Gareth and Lisa 1st class and great help. Sorted out my additional borrowing because the mortgage online team was not capable of doing this. The online team/help was a disgrace. Thank god for switched on people in branch.”
