First time in newry lesure centre and unfortunately never to return. The experience today was awful - staff member extremely rude to young people and children and very much overreacting too and shouting across at children in the pool and arguing with parents In the junior pool area, lifeguards over stepping the role and functions & really couldn't relax or enjoy the pool experience today and wouldn't return.I might well put this down to poor managed of the centre, and poorly trained staff, below what you would expect in terms of common courtesy. Hopefully will improve from my experience today

Unfortunately it is a very dirty and disgusting place. Writing this review after many uses over the last months. Nothing has changed. Floor and changing rooms are disgustingly dirty. Pictures taken at 9am so you expect to be clean. Bugs at every drain on the floor, hair, sweets, dirt and grim everywhere. Toilets are revolting. Staff are unfortunately just not up to the job!

The woman on the reception desk is very rude. I have seen her yelling at people the past few times I have been in, myself included when attending with my 2 toddlers. After paying and booking she is still very sharp in her attitude, even muttering about us under her breath as we walk through the turnstile. As a foreign person I can?t help but wonder if this is her problem? Have cancelled my membership as a result.

Brutal. Tried to take my 2 kids swimming today. It was always a walk in and wait place but I checked the website and it said no need to book Monday to Friday but maybe during holidays.
So I tried booking in advance using the app and it wasn't responding.
Drove 30 minutes and queued only to be told it was fully booked.
Other people there had the same experience.
Website/app needs to be seriously improved.
Only word is a joke for what happened. And the staff lady was trying to say I must not be using the app properly so I took my phone out I'm front of her to prove it.
If I could give 0 stars I would.
Last time we tried to come 12 months ago it was closed for major refurbishments when we arrived. Literally nothing on their website to say that only some articles from online news sites.

Ladies behind desk always have some sort of problem. I understand they?re just doing their job but blatant racism is just unacceptable. I?m
Aware it?s hard to hear past the plastic but rolling your eyes, screaming at the customer and making them feel like a fool because English isn?t their first language is unacceptable.

The swimming pool at Newry Leisure Centre has potential, but the experience felt overly controlled. Staff seem more focused on enforcing rules than on creating a relaxed, enjoyable atmosphere for family swims. The constant whistle blowing and shouting from the life guards was off-putting, and the slides, which are a big attraction, are rarely open. There?s a need for a better balance between safety and fun to make it a place families actually look forward to visiting.

During covid, I put in a request to cancel as I wasn't getting the use! They advised to pause the account, and I can start it back up whenever I wished. They made it sound so simple which persuaded me into doing so as it seemed like the easiest option... they automatically restarted it 2 months later without notification and it ended up being 200 odd pound out of my account over the next year or so. Asked them to help me put in a request to have this credited onto my account or refunded, and they said that it was my fault for not looking at my bank balance and that I should have noticed earlier.. it was coming out of my santander account which went into overdraft.Ended up with a rake of bank charges also as a result.I thought I'd all outgoings sorted on that account, so I never really looked at it from then on in as I thought that was all out goings finished and the bank account was effectively dormant.Sent email after email and called god knows how many times but was just plainly ignored to the point where i just give up which seemingly was their hope. I'm just generally fed up of the center now and the way in which its being run (into the ground) so requested the forms to cancel my account so myself and my other half will be over shortly with them.Avoid!
