“JC Stewart has always been at the heart of Magherafelt. It opened by the Stewart Family in 1894. A number of years ago in was sold. However the ethos of the Stewart Family are still present. They have lots of local fresh produce in terms of bread and bakery items. It also has its own fresh bakery, sandwich bar, fresh cooked items, and a proper butcher counter. There are amazing homemade savory and sweet dishes prepared to cook at home. The fruit and vegetable area is all local. You can also ring in an order, pay for it and they will deliver. This was extremely significant during lockdown due to the global pandemic of COVID. The staff are amazing and extremely helpful. They know their customers and still shows that Stewarts is still a local business for the local community.”
“it has a good range of product, though not as wide as the larger store in Cookstown. The range is smaller and the prices are slightly more expensive as they carry the more expensive package sizes.”
