We were on a road trip when we had a tyre indicator alert.
Luckily we were near Derry and called in to NW Tyres. They promptly checked all 4 tyres and reset our indicator with humour and friendliness and sent us on our way for no charge. Thanks!

They checked my car and said I needed 4 new brake pads, 4 new discs and 1 caliper.
To me this means nothing, so I said do what needs done and agreed.
They quoted me total of £600 and they needed to find another part and will try get the cheapest but they range from £200-£340 because of my make of car.
So up to a total of £940.
Went and got the car back, took it to another garage, got new brake pads and discs, turns out I didn?t need a caliper.
It cost £200.
Far from the £940 they quoted me.
Honestly not sure if it was because I was a female, or just because I displayed having no clue about cars.

Long story short they claimed I had two very dangerous front tyre's and they needed replacing asap , when i told them that i only recently got them at there shop my reg number was nowhere to be found on there system.. not happy with the decision I took my car to not one but two other tyre shops who said they were 100% fine . There worksheet which the guy at the counter reluctantly gave me also said OK. I'd think twice about taking your car here folks . ***Beware*** SCAMMERS !!! Edit today . 04/01/25 passed mot with same tyres . Shocking ! Think twice people

AVOID AVOID AVOID Scam Service. My female partner took my car in for 2 new tyres. They 'assessed' the vehicle and told her that it needed
4 bottom arms £400
2 front tyres £90 each (they then increased it to £95)
Shock needed replaced £100
Caliper £200
I took it to my mechanic and none of the above needed replaced or needed attention except the tyres which was the purpose of the visit. I then phone them to make a complaint, spoke with Ciaran or Kieran. He said he would get the work sheet and return my call. That was 2 weeks ago.
The bottom line is this. They try to scam you, tell you that there is problems which in reality dont exist. Avoid them, there's plenty of honest services in the city. It's disgusting that they would do this to the working class people of Derry and indeed further afield. They clearly try to capitalise on women thinking they won't know any better. No accountability when challenged. They just want your hard earned money.
Avoid at all costs or roll the dice and take the chance of being scammed

We had an emergency after our tyre punctured and went to North West Tyres, who had replaced our tyre within the hour. Fantastic service, so efficient and very reasonable pricing. Went over and above to help us.

Huge thanks to the team here for taking in my car at the last minute they closed. My car was a rental with no spare and it happened to be a tire size that is not typical. This was probably like the 5th shop we got in contact with. I am an American tourist and it was around 5pm when my tire blew out so it was a very stressful moment when everyone is closing. The guys at Tyre depot on mountain side called this shop for me. Thank you all for the emergency help
