Not sure who will James is but maybe he should check with the founder before publishing lies. During lockdown cats fed twice daily. Bubbles was not in lockdown and able to come and go as she pleased.A lady in a red car took her from Exchange road carpark. Why not check ..out the vet bills we pay and the food we supply? This shop is run entirely by volunteers. Why don't you make sure you have your facts right before you print lies.I can assure you nobody is on any ego trip. All volunteers work very hard for free . I'm sure the lady who took Bubbles will look after her. Please call in and ask to speak with Roberta .l can prove exactly what we do . Maybe Mr James could explain why a micro chipped cat was not returned if she were injured especially as we work closely with the local vets.

I travelled down to Larne from Carrickfergus on Friday afternoon after work. I had quite a lot of clothes and other items in the boot. I arrived approx 2.50pm and luckily got parked right outside. I popped in just to ask where they would like me to put the items. I was met by what I would consider a pretty rude older female. I said I had the stuff but she told me in no uncertain terms that they couldn't possibly take them at this time of day, apparently you had to have them in the shop by 2.30pm (who knew). I said I'd travelled from Carrick but no, she wasn't having it. She also said that she couldn't possibly leave the items for the staff the next day as it 'wouldn't be fair to them. I'm in shock. I didn't realise charities were that well off. I feel very sad about this. I'm an animal lover and this was a contribution that I would have loved to have made. I hope the lady doesn't get paid to work there. Not very inviting or helpful.

This shop may be for animal welfare however that did not excuse the presence of a cat in said shop. It's sitting in a prime location on the main Street with a poor window display and it's not well laid out inside with overpriced goods. But the staff are friendly, as was the cat!Two years later.....A review is a published evaluation of something; it could be of a book, film etc., in this instance it is a shop. Its purpose is to provide constructive criticism of the thing being reviewed. The response to any review should not be a defense of 'the way things are', nor should it be rude, but should be an intelligent consideration of what measures may be taken to implement change, and possibly make improvements if necessary. The above review was based on observations made at that time. It was not about the welfare of the cat(s), but about the customers' experience in the shop. The cat(s) appear to be contented and well cared for, however, the customer, who suffers from a cat allergy or other 'cat' related issues, would have difficulty shopping here.My other comments were regarding the layout, window display and pricing. The layout seems to have improved; the window display has improved however it needs to be more eye catching as it is a low level. Unfortunately, it may be that anything more elaborate than the present layout could risk being knocked over by the cat(s), which is a shame, as the two large windows have a lot of potential. Pricing is competitive with most other Larne charity shops, and the staff in the shop are pleasant and cooperative. Am I increasing my rating of this shop? Yes! This is due to the improvements in the shop, and not the ill considered online responses.

Sorry to read such negative reviews, remember folks this is a charity for animals in need and it is thanks to kind hearted volunteers that many animals receive much needed care. Your resident cats are adorable and when I visit Larne I hope to call in and support your shop.

This shop certainly does not smell except of cleaning products. As for prices Jeans£3.99 ,tops, shirts £3.99 very comparable with other charity shops.we have no salaries to pay and our volunteers try hard to do windows and keep shop clean.Maybe we should employ a manager and window dresser and give less to the animals.,or maybe you should shop in Harrods

Went in today and the smell of cat urine was unbelievable, stayed no more than a few seconds and had to leave.

Staff are lovely. Cute wee cat. However the prices are shocking. Very expensive for a charity shop.
