I've always liked Pier 36. I first visited years ago and was looking forward to going again for something to eat. It's in a really nice location, although parking availability is so-so. The place itself has a lovely traditional bar/pub feel to the interior. The food was very tasty which didn't surprise me, the only fly in the ointment is the staff were blunt and sometimes difficult to find to ask for the bill etc. This might have due to the fact that it was relatively busy however. Still worth a visit though over all ?

Rang up last night to book for 10 when the girl came out she stated what was sold out on the menu she then took are order came back to us 15 mins later to say their was no turkey and ham so were re ordered different meals 1 hour and 15 mins later it took to bring out the meals place had hardly anyone in ...chips was cold and peas were hard terribly slow service like we were forgot about wee didnt even order starters arrived at 7 and food came out at 8.15 dont think we will be back

If you want 8?10 chips as pale as Voldemort, this is the place for you.
The food here is massively overpriced for what you get. I don?t mind paying premium prices for good food, but when it?s terrible, it just feels insulting. I paid £15 for what can only be described as 8?10 sad little ?chips? with no sign of the golden crispiness you?d expect ? just pale, limp disappointments. To make matters worse, one of them was completely black inside, and yet it was still served to me in that condition.
The staff were okay at best, but one of the guys genuinely looked like he had no clue what he was doing, which was a bit concerning.
Overall, I left hungry, annoyed, and wondering how they thought this was acceptable to serve to paying customers. Save your money and eat literally anywhere else.

Honestly the dinner was disappointing. Mediocre cold food, side dishes were mostly cold, French fries chewy, staff was very friendly yet not attentive, I assume the place is understaffed for the amount of tables they are taking care of. 2 stars for the gluten free options.

The service was an absolute 5 star! Our table was shaky, a staff member noticed this and brought beer mats which fixed it instantly! We orders two pints, they took a while so the staff apologised 3 or 4 times and explained they needed to switch the keg over, not their fault at all but the communication was so good we were not worried about when the pints came, plus we hadn?t even been waiting long. We ordered the largest steaks on the menu as a group and they had told us it would take a while due to what we ordered, they offered complimentary bread for the table while the steaks were cooking. Now, when the steaks arrived?. Oh my goodness the flavour was unreal, cooked perfectly with a lovely red wine jus and didn?t even take as long as they thought. We paid for the bill and they didn?t ask for a tip which made it a nicer process and I left saying the service, food and everything else was perfect! A great meal, will be back!

They were happy to sit a walk in of 14 on a Sunday afternoon. Caroline was helpful and friendly. The prompt service was also impressive, our food was out within 20-25 minutes. I look forward to coming back.??

Had a group of 14 of us turn up for a delightful Sunday lunch without a booking and they couldn?t of been more accommodating, Caroline and the rest of the staff at Pier 36 couldn?t of done a better job at making us feel welcome and providing an excellent service, on top of all that the food was brilliant. Will definitely be returning

Got there got asked if we booked a table for the restaurant we said no and the female waiter said ?yeah no problem there?s a table up here? so we follow her and she said ?just there? we got confused as there was three tables empty and she wasn?t really specific so we waited and asked the nearest waiter ?is this the table we?ve been told to sit at or is it this other one? genuinely confused and the male waiter Carlos said ?oh no no these tables aren?t for you, you don?t sit here? which felt really rude as we were told it was either one of these 3 tables by the first waiter, cut long story short we sat at a table which was at the other side of the restaurant, there is no communication within the employees as we were told a completely different table, the embarrassment we felt was just plain stupid, and for a woman who is pregnant the attitude that was given to me wasn?t on, we waited 50 minutes after this to be served a chicken skewer and a beef burger and some chips, before this someone beside us got offered ?a small plate? for waiting so long, bare in mind these people sat down after us and got brilliant customer service, we didn?t get a ?sorry we?re busy? comment or nothing, also we seen that other people were getting handed a whole different menu than what we had gotten, I worked within the public and I know how important customer service is, the service was horrid and the way Carlos dealt with us just asking if this was the right table and making us feel stupid was ridiculous, we ended up drinking a pint glass of coke each before we got served our food
