“Was flying away before Christmas and couldn't get euros anywhere as we had left it too late and most places had no euros left (there was a shortage due to royal mail strikes). We arrived at the airport very early in the morning (04:30) and to our surprise the travelex money exchange was open. The young guy on the counter was very informative and was extremely helpful (very alert and attentive for being so early in the morning). He explained the rates and the new travel money card that he could offer us and the costs of using our cards abroad.However my husband insisted on us taking cash.The rate wasn't as good as we expected again the young guy explained airport rates etc. We ended up taking more as the young guy explained the charges about using our bank card abroad again and we had planned to use our bank cards during our trip. 5 star service!!And after all my husband used our card to withdraw 50euro on the last day and it cost us £73!!! Be Careful using bankcards abroad. Machine rate was brutal, the ATM charged us and our bank had a fee ontop as well. Glad we stopped at travelex!”
