Customer service was appalling, went to the till and the lady was so busy shouting across the shop to a male colleague she didn?t as much as make eye contact with me, through the items I had purchased on the counter without even asking me if I needed a bag etc only for another member of staff to near barge me out of her way to reach over the till.

Customer service atrocious, woefully lacking basic skills. Staff have to refer faulty item exchanges to management, then I realised why the skill level was so low - the rot starts from the top and works down. The manager appeared to take it as a personal affront that an item proved faulty after 2 weeks and we dared return it. She refused to listen let alone engage in a constructive conversation, preferring to constantly interrupt and talk over us with her incessant screechy yap and at one point called us liars. Refused to check the receipt or inspect the item properly, repeatably citing a ?shop policy? that anyone with half a brain knows breaches consumer law. Constantly repeating a made up policy over the top of people with a valid point does not make anyone right, just a bit dumb to everyone else witnessing their immature behaviour, I thought RyanAir were bad. Refused to give us her name or the complaints procedure. Contacted Sports Direct HQ and, unsurprisingly, discovered said policy does not exist ? ie manager makes stuff up as she goes along in order to ?win?. We are talking about an item costing £15. Yep, a whole £15 which we wanted to exchange with a better quality item costing over 3 times that. Petty behaviour that no manager worth their salt would lower themselves to, but then no manager worth their salt would be working in Sports Direct.
