The Garden centre itself is fab and a welcome addition to grow on what Sunnybank did so well, we were looking forward to the new cafe, but unfortunately it has fallen way short of its competitors! Our experience was a miserable server who shouldn't be customer facing ? we ordered the Brie and brocoli quiche which was tasteless and at £9.95 the side was a bit of salad drowned in dressing and a spoonful of cheap coleslaw! The salad choice showing is I believe £3 extra each, in other places you get to choose 2 free! My mum got a sausage bap, which looked like the bap had been ripped apart, no presentation at all!
Too many good cafes around to give this type of service so definite work needed here.

We went today and it is such a lovely place, well laid out, loads of stock. We had lunch in the cafe and the food was brilliant and the staff very friendly !

Lovely family run garden centre with good selection of plants. Lovely gift shop and cafe. Dog friendly with separate cafe area for well behaved pooches.. staff are friendly and v helpful.

Decided to take my elderly mother here for lunch very disappointed. The cafe is so overcrowded with tables it's virtually impossible to get to a seat especially when a person is on crutches etc Ordered a sandwich waited for it for a lifetime thought it was going to be fantastic but sorely disappointed in it a basic basic sandwich asked for ham brie and onion marmalade they missed out the marmalade relish. It was dry and virtually inedible and crisps put on my plate where the crumbs of what was left of the packet I also had to ask for cups for the tea a couple of times like really. Don't recommend cafe at all and would never get anything from it again ?

Lovely spot, certainly up to the high standards of the other Hillmount Garden Centres. Large site, and plenty of space indoors for gifts etc. and outdoors for plants, with most of the plants in covered areas so no problems with our dodgy weather. Service and food in the cafe were excellent, and we found it was very comfortable and spacious. The cafe is indeed doggie friendly, however the seating area which is dog friendly is in the covered outdoor plant area - dogs are not permitted in the indoor seating area where the food is served. This is ideal whether or not you're a dog lover. Overall we were very impressed with Hillmount Carrick.

Big improvement here, now has a cafe that has increased footfall, and so has new car park and toilets planned. The shop has got busier too.
Think they need to be more competive in pricing, I only came out with one item.

Unfortunately not a family friendly cafe due to it being very small, tight spacing coupled with the fact that it's dog friendly. There isn't any area allocated for children who don't like dogs, or adults who prefer not to eat with dogs. It would be fantastic if there was a choice but unfortunately it doesn't appear this way at the moment.

I got two beautiful Holly wreaths for family graves. The staff were so helpful. They put extra ribbon on to secure the wreaths to the headstones. I have been doing this for the last 4 years - I totally recommend this garden centre. Plenty of free parking as well x
