It seems this menu shares many things with the hotel restaurant, but they do offer more variety. The Traditional Irish Stew is a bowl of comfort, hot lamb with potatoes and carrots, all very tender. 5 pounds each is rather steep for a single Scone, but these homemade beauties are amazing and can be enjoyed plain or with cream and jam. The daily special has fresh raspberries and a coat of white chocolate. Scones are the way to go, and I did enjoy the stew. Come here for sure instead of eating all 3 meals at the hotel restaurant if you're stuck at the Causeway all day.

Only stopped here because it was one of two food options on a tour. Food is...edible. Not good, but edible. Like eating flavorless globs while you're sitting in a not nice atmosphere. Expensive and not worth it at all. Picture having less than McDonalds quality food but being charged above airport prices. Staff is also not polite and not something we'd come back for. They also charge for tap water and you have to go up to order every single item, so you cannot even like refill your own water without getting back in line and paying for tap water and their tap water doesn't even taste good. Would NOT recommend.

Overpriced and joyless food. We ate there today and came away £150 poorer for food that was clearly average quality and unbelievably expensive for what it was. We were very disappointed as The Nook wasn?t always like this. It?s really gone down hill.

Where the View?s a Giant, but the Lunch is a Letdown
Nestled charmingly at the foot of the Giant?s Causeway, in what looks like a postcard-perfect stone cottage, you?d be forgiven for thinking you?ve stumbled upon a cosy, culinary gem. Alas, appearances can be deceiving ? much like expecting a pot of gold and finding a parking ticket.
Let?s start with the food. Average, at best. We?re talking the sort of menu that feels like it was designed by someone who once read about flavour in a book. Chips? Fine. Soup? Warm. Sandwiches? Bread existed. But when the bill arrived ? tipping the scales at nearly £100 for two adults and two small, not-yet-gourmet children ? it felt more like a tourist toll than a family lunch. For that price, I expected fireworks. Or at least seasoning.
It quickly becomes obvious that The Nook isn?t built for regulars ? because there won?t be any. With busloads of weary, wind-swept visitors tumbling in daily from across the globe, there?s little incentive to try hard. Why bother with quality when you've got quantity guaranteed?
Inside, the charm quickly fades. Tables are either elbow-to-elbow tiny or fashioned from what I can only assume were leftover props from a Victorian classroom. We ended up at one of the sloped bench setups, which felt less like dining and more like sliding slowly into your mash. Not ideal when your plate starts tilting towards your lap with each passing minute.
But, in fairness, not all was lost. They do pour a cracking pint of Guinness ? rich, creamy, and surprisingly well-kept considering the chaos around it. If anything, it's the best argument for popping in. Just don?t linger for food unless you enjoy parting with your cash in exchange for mediocrity.
The setting is magic, the Guinness is good ? but everything else? The Nook sadly feels more like a nook-and-swindle.

I was on a tour of the Causeway in Northern Ireland. This lovely cafe The Nook was one of the restaurants available to get a bite to eat. I ordered the fruit scone with cream, butter and jam. Yummy! I also got an Irish coffee. That was delicious too. The service was fast and friendly. It gets busy because it is a tourist spot. I still recommend it.

A gorgeous little spot to pop in for a nice meal, especially after visiting the Giant?s Causeway. Stop in for a drink or a nice warm, stick-to-your-bones meal. Sure you?ll need it after all the traveling and exploring. Go on, treat yourself. I enjoyed the traditional lamb stew, absolutely delicious!

What a wonderful pub!!! Great food especially the crispiest fish n chips on an absolutely beautiful summer day, sitting outside on the patio was such a delight.

High price small portions. Probably would have enjoyed but for the miserable portion of mash served with an average beef and Guinness pie.

Nice spot for a drink after a walk to the Causeway.

After exploring the Giant?s Causeway, we stopped at The Nook and it ended up being one of the highlights.
We ordered the Steak & Guinness Pie and the Irish Lamb Stew, splitting them between the two of us and honestly, we couldn?t pick a favorite even if we tried. Both dishes were absolutely outstanding. Rich, hearty, perfectly seasoned, and the kind of comfort food you dream about long after the meal is over. We wished we had room to try more because everything coming out of the kitchen looked just as delicious. Of course, we wrapped it all up with a perfectly poured pint; the ideal finish to an unforgettable meal.
It does get very busy, likely because it?s so close to the Causeway, so finding a table took a little patience. But once we were seated, the service was friendly, the atmosphere cozy, and the experience well worth the wait. If you?re anywhere near the Causeway, don?t miss The Nook! Incredible food, great vibes, and the perfect way to warm up after a walk on the cliffs.
