Tribal Burger on Botanic is a great spot for anyone who loves a proper burger. The menu is small and focused, which works in its favour ? instead of endless choices, you get a carefully selected range of burgers, sides, and drinks that are all done really well. The highlight is that you can choose exactly how your burger is cooked, whether you prefer medium, medium-rare, or well done, which makes the whole experience feel much more personal than a standard burger joint.
A big plus is their gluten-free bun option, which is excellent quality and makes Tribal Burger a welcoming spot for those with dietary requirements. The burgers themselves are juicy, flavourful, and clearly made with fresh ingredients. The portion sizes are generous, and the sides, especially the fries, are just as good as the mains.
They also serve alcohol, which makes it a great place for a casual meal with friends or a relaxed evening out. The atmosphere inside is lively yet laid-back, with friendly staff who are always happy to help. Service is quick, even during busy periods, and everything feels well organised.
Located right on Botanic, it?s easy to get to whether you?re coming from the university area or the city centre, and it?s a perfect stop before a night out or after a day exploring Belfast. Prices are very reasonable for the quality you get, and it always feels like good value for money.
Overall, Tribal Burger stands out because it keeps things simple but does them exceptionally well ? great burgers, thoughtful options like gluten-free buns, the ability to cook to your preference, and a welcoming atmosphere with a drink in hand. Easily one of the top burger spots in Belfast and a place I?d recommend to anyone visiting the area.

Waited for ages for our orders which were loaded fries And to be honest they were not worth either the wait or the money. Total waste of both chips were obviously sitting for a decade there was that much sauce they were inedible. Went to use the vinegar and there was a cloudy residue in the bottle lifted another and it was the same I would be damned if I was using it would have ended up in hospital A total disappointment steer clear of this place spend your money on something descent. Do not recommend

I had a meal here with my son on Friday afternoon while in Botanic. The staff were nice and helpful, both ordered Double Burgers and a portion of Cheesy Fries. The food came out fairly quickly and looked very good but the burgers were overcooked, extremely salty in taste and dry.
They looked like they may have been precooked in some way and just heated up when ordered?
I persevered with mine a little more, as I was hungry, my son had a single bite and left his. The fries were just acceptable.
I wouldn?t be running back and noted the place was empty on a Friday afternoon, we were the only customers, maybe there?s a reason?
Very disappointing, as I had expectations of a decent burger, possibly I got them on an off day?

They screwed up our very simple order, the food was mediocre and the place was packed and the tables were messy. They can't control the number of customers but the other issues were certainly on them. Given the crowd and ratings it seems like we may have just been unlucky.

Possibly my favourite burger place in Belfast, delicious every time.

Was recommended by several locals but honestly left feeling disappointed. The burger was below average - patty overcooked. Chips way too salty and overcooked as well. The Buffalo wings were excellent, however. Service could be faster.

Burgers great, chunky chips amazing, tin of coke/sprite etc near 3 quid ? that was a killer and why it's 4 star not 5

I recently visited tribal burger with my family after reading good reviews about their gluten free options. I asked about the options when I got to the till to order and was assured they had separate fryers for the chips + chicken. I ordered a beef burger with bacon + chips, when my meal arrived it had 'GF' hand written on it and the lady stated it was gluten free but my bap looked exactly like everyone else's (they aren't gf). I'm extremely fussy so I removed the fat of the bacon in the burger and was hesitant to eat it as the bap was the same so I took it to the till and asked the manager was it definitely gf, he told me it was not he'll get it sorted. He brought me a new burger down in minutes, I opened it up and it was the same patty + bacon from the one before! No awareness of cross contamination! Covered in crumbs my partner then took it back up where the chef said 'it's a whole new burger'. I know it wasn't, it was cold and had the same bacon I had dissected beforehand. To give someone gluten by mistake is bad enough but to know you done it a second time is so careless, It's very worrying and disappointing how bad their Knowledge is about gluten and how serious it can be if ingested, this is not a choice but a health + dietary requirement and people like me would rather you didn't offer the gluten free option if you can't do it right and safely. The manager was not rude but really just didn't care when we were tying to explain how serious it was what his staff had done, I was an inconvenience.
Dietary restrictions: Do not eat here if you are gluten free, it's not safe!
