Never been before. Food tasty but service is slow. Waiting at least 30mins from when you order to getting your food, never mind the wait for them to take your order. Asked for water to be charged 2.30 each, never been charged for water before in a restaurant.

I went to it south for my birthday. We had a fantastic meal which was absolutely beautiful and the staff. The waitress staff were absolutely exquisite absolutely fantastic so very helpful. I will definitely be back. I thoroughly enjoyed my meal. I was the best day boy and we, the waitress staff were absolutely, fabulous. Ryan, McCartney.

We visited 8S as we regularly do, and the service is always excellent. However, on this occasion, the very young waitress who greeted us was one of the most pleasant I have encountered in my 75 years from anywhere in the world. All of our party commented as she left out the table on how efficient and pleasant she was. Amilee, I think her name was Having placed our order, she returned asking if we would like a family photo, which was a very nice gesture. She was very attetive throughout our visit. Also, when we just ordered two deserts, she had the inisitave ask if if we wanted to share plates. Never before has any restaurant offered this without having to request the same. Young lady, your parents should be proud of you, and 8 South are so lucky to have you.

It had been about a year and a half since l had last visited Eight South, and l left after spending an evening there, make sure you don?t leave it that long again. I had a friend visiting from Scotland and l was looking for somewhere to go which could offer comfortable surroundings, and decent food at an affordable price. From the moment we walked in through the impressive double doors, then into the warm welcoming bar restaurant area, I knew this was what l had hoped for. The staff were friendly,attentive , and our table was nicely situated in front of the fire. After ordering a drink, we then looked through the comprehensive menu, and made our choices from the well priced selection of starters, mains and desserts on offer. I f you can?t find something to suit you on that menu, then perhaps eating out isn?t for you. I have already booked for my next visit, and would have no hesitation in recommending this South Belfast gem to a friend or relation. Top marks.

When we stepped into the we were greated by the lovely Sinead, she was so efficient and on her job!! The food was outstanding, we both had soup and fish (different options) The portions were massive. It?s a very clean well minded venue and the staff were all fantastic! We will be back!

First time coming here and I'm glad I did. Neighbours are always recommending it. Firstly the service was great and the food was great. Portion sizes are just right. Not small and not too big. My father who is quite picky enjoyed every moment of it. From starter to dessert and it was good to see him so happy. The prices are good for what you get. Can really recommend the prawn cocktail for starter and the chicken sizzler for main. We will definitely be back.

Rude and ignorant service, small man with dark hair. Seems like the young staff have more manners than ones that have been around for a while. Won't be back.

Once again our group enjoyed a lovely lunch at Eight South. Eddie and staff looked after us very well. Great food and wonderful service. Always an enjoyable experience.

We were there on the 8th of August with a group of 20, we got first class service, the food was amazing and our group of 20 were very pleased. Big shout out to the staff and management for the service, very professional and quick. We will all be recommending Eight South to all family and friends.

Great spot for casual night out or a family celebration. Good choice of menu and staff are great , usually fit us in even if we haven?t booked. Can highly recommend !

Went to Eight South with our walking group (23) on our way home from a day out. We had pre-ordered and the food was all presented as requested. Feedback from everyone was very positive and plates were cleared. We would certainly think about going there again.

Used to go to 8 South every fortnight for lunch. The last 3 times the food has declined. Ordered sandwiches the bread was stale and no side salad on the side presented very badly My friend ordered the omelette with chips. They forgot to bring the chips and when they did they tasted of fish. They must of cooked it with the fish disgusting Some staff have a bad attitude aswell.

Booked a post marathon meal for our local running group yesterday and can?t praise staff and food enough in Eight South.Atmosphere was lovely and relaxed and service was excellent.Food came out piping hot and well presented.Clean plates all round with a wide variety of dishes from the menu including vegetarian and dairy free.Compliments all round from 20 satisfied runners.Thank you to everyone.

This was our third time at Eight South. The first just before Mothers day was fine. The second on St Patrick's Day... awful. Easter Tuesday... awful. The food is lovely, very tasty and generous portions, my 8 year old loves their pizza. The surroundings in the restaurant are great. comfortable tables, clean, tidy and well decorated. The service is abysmal. It really lets the whole place down. We booked on each occasion. Each time we arrived with children aged 8-11. First time 2 children, second time 3 kids and last time 4. If you book with kids they will sit you in a booth. These are too small to order pizza as the boards are big and invariably the people who have to sit on the outside of the booth will have to tetter on the edge the entire time just to accommodate everyone. Never come here for a quick bite. although the food sometimes is slow in coming out, it is the failings of the service staff, who left us at Easter with empty plates in front of us for more than 30 minutes before I finally caught their attention and asked them to be cleared. There is excessive waits for everything. Get a seat wait 15 minutes before ordering, finish your starter wait 20 minutes to have plates collected, repeat for mains. Ask for dessert menus, wait 10-15 minutes to order those. Wait another 20 minutes to have these plates cleared. Ask for bill - 15 minutes. Ask to pay by card - 15 minutes to get card machine. A 2 course dinner for 6 on Tuesday took 1hr 45 minutes. Kids were getting incredibly bored and rowdy. Very stressful trying to keep them under control especially as 2 have ADHD and one is ASD. Could understand if it was busy but only 8 parties the whole time we were there. Staff training is desperately needed. Having worked in catering they should know that table turnaround is money earned. I appeal to management to address this issue as this could be a great place but the service (or lack thereof) completely lets it down. I first went on a recommendation. Neither I, nor the initial recommender will choose to return due to these significant issues. I have spoken to others who have noted exactly the same failings (as seen throughout these reviews). management needs to listen and address them.
