This chemist is always busy as it's beside a doctor's surgery but there are always plenty of staff on the counter and several pharmacists in the back to make sure that you never have to wait that long. It was at this very pharmacy this morning that I got the good news that all prescription items are now free. Although the funds for that will have to come from somewhere. A new tax perhaps? Anyway, back to the Dundee Chemist. This is a large chemist which is bright airy and modern. I'm a bit of a germ phobe and hygiene freak and there a full shelf of hand sanitisers, disposable gloves and antiseptic wipes. Joy. There's all the usual shampoos and stuff and medicines but what really appeals to me (as well as the germ killing shelf) is the range of make up which is excellent for a suburban chemist shop. There is Rimmel, Max Factor, GOSH and Barry M. I have often dashed in on a Saturday afternoon to get some last minute nail polish before a night out. The only problem is that I tend to pick up about £30 of make up while waiting for my prescription. Smart merchandising. The icing on the cake is the full Clarins counter. This is pretty unusual for a run of the mill chemists and sells the full range of Clarins make up and face and beauty products. Best of all, there is also a treatment room where you can have a Clarins treatment. I have had my tan done here and can vouch for the fact that it is of exactly the same standard as the salons in the big department stores. How great is it to be able to get Clarins products without having to go into the city centre. I know, I have a lot to worry about.
