There's nothing worse than being hot and sticky on a warm day. You get (well, I know I do) so conscious of the fact that you're ponging the entire town out, or you've got massive sweat patches everywhere, or you just look a general mess. Cue Maguire's pharmacy with limited supplies of pleasantly fragranced deodorants to combat that which is not so pleasantly fragranced, i.e. me. Maguire's is one of those chemists that have the huge yellow sticky labels stuck to everything, displaying the RRP (which is usually, and in this case always, scored out), the name of the chemist and their new improved price in massive type. Just in case you weren't aware you were getting a bargain with the large yellow stickers. I picked up a well-priced deodorant, and looked around to see if there was anything I required. The answer to this is almost always no, as I buy toiletries additively any time I'm in a chemists, which is occurs at least twice a week. However, being the wonderful big sister that I am (ahem), I decided to treat my sister to a couple of things she 'needed' instead, seeing as it was the last day before she went back to school, and she would no longer be accompanying me on any visits anywhere. Eyes lighting up, she cried, "Ooh yes, I need some bobbles", and wandered off to find some which she deemed as "good quality". Directly after this, she spotted a bottle of Aussie conditioner for heat damaged hair, and decided to take that too. I went to pay, the conditioner coming in at £2 some odds, the bobbles for 99p, and the deodorant at £1.79. I handed the girl £5, but she informed it was only £2.89, and handed me back some change. Slightly confused, I noted that she'd put all three items in the bag, so it wasn't as if she'd forgotten about one of them, and she had another customer to deal with, so I didn't want to question her. I guess that's what happens when you're as kind and loving as me...
