I've always loved this wee shop and their amazing bargains, and I?ve never had a single issue there before. Unfortunately, today was such a disappointing experience with the staff. There was one girl at the till and a lady manager (I don?t recall their names ? the manager had a ponytail and wore a red uniform).
I came in on a bank holiday to buy a set of fake nails, as two of my own nails had broken right before I start work tomorrow. Since I couldn?t get them properly fixed the same day, I just needed some temporary ones.
At the till, the girl asked for ID. I showed her a scan of my passport and also had my driving licence scan on my phone. She wasn?t polite or helpful, and insisted on seeing a physical card ? which I didn?t have with me, as I never expected I?d need one just to buy fake nails.
What made things worse was the attitude of both the cashier and the manager. Instead of being understanding or respectful, they looked at me and basically laughed in my face. Their behaviour completely ruined my evening. I absolutely understand that shops have policies ? I work in a place with strict policies myself ? but there?s a big difference between enforcing rules and treating customers with such a lack of empathy.
I?ve never before been asked for ID when buying beauty products, and I?m clearly not a teenager. I left feeling insulted and disrespected. Just last week I spent £20 in this store, but after this experience I have no desire to return or spend another penny where customers are treated this way.

I don't even know how to start I walked in and was with a couple of friends I was walking down one of the rows and I sneezed one of the workers came up to me at the tills and said we were messing around as a teen does I told him to shut up and he kame back up to us and was being rude

Staff are very helpful. On Saturday I sent my daughter down to get me a clothes airer. It was faulty when taken out of packaging. She took it back tonight and she got it replaced again this one was faulty too. The clothes airer wouldn't stay up and it was away to the one side I noticed the hinges were faulty. Probably a faulty batch.

I use your Bangor store at least 4 times a week and have to say the staff are just so friendly and welcoming. I want to specifically mention a member of staff Called Gary, today he went above and beyond and went into the warehouse to find us something not on the shelves, we just accepted you where out of stock and he went of his own accord and found our item without us knowing. We have a baby and numerous staff always ask about the baby and how we are getting on. I know Home Bargains are a national chain but your staff give your store the local shop feeling.
Well done to the bangor management creating such a great, warming and affordable store ?
