Firstly, the staff are very very unfriendly and uninterested in the customer, and stand talking about utter nonsense whilst ignoring those in to buy food. Now I know all about the lives of half od Carnlough as they just stood talking loudly the entire time whilst ignoring customers.. Also regarding hygiene, it seems non existent. The shop is dirty, the kitchen looks like it has not been cleaned in a decade, and the woman who was heavily sweating when cooking the food??? Well we can only pray that her hands were clean. The food is disgusting. The fish wasn't cooked properly; it was cold in the middle and certainly was not the freshest and its not really good value for money. The chips were also undercooked . We ended up feeding most of it to the seagulls. The food standards agency need to call in and inspect this place, esp the kitchen at the back, and I can honestly say it's possibly the worst fish and chips I have ever had. You're better off driving past it and looking for an alternative further up the coast. If i could give minus points I would. Very very very disappointing.

What a fantastic chippy, looks like it hasn't changed in decades which I love and only accepts cash which is another good sign. Food we had today was fantastic. Love authentic places like this. Hope you remain open for years to come.

Good portions. Reasonably priced.

Great stop for a quick bite. Staff friendly and polite. Portions are a decent size, and the prices are just right. The food when I ate it parked up along the coast was more than enough. This was at lunchtime. I didn't need my tea later. Very good, not in your face chippy, (not like others along the coast which charge 5star prices for 2star service and average food)
Give it a try, you won't be disappointed.

About 15 - 20 years ago, we were driving through Carnlough. We just happened to stop at this chippy and had fish and chips. We were hooked. We used to go to Carnlough just for fish and chips. This continued until we had kids. ?.
Now the kids are 10 and 7, we were up the coast and decided to drop in to one of our old haunts. Unfortunately, these days, it doesn't have a sit-in anymore, but we walked across the street and sat on the wall beside the sea. Another good spot is the children's park beside the beach.
Food was as lovely as ever. My wife loved the fish and chips, I loved the sakt Chili chicken with chips. Kids had chicken nuggets and fish bites, both with chips. Very nice taste, very nice staff. Well appreciated.
Think we will visit more now, especially when we are up that neck of the woods.

Lovely chips! Had a cheesy chip after walking up to cranny falls and around the harbour. Freshly made and really great quality chips. Remember to take cash :)

Fish and large chips for a tenner. Enough for two to share. The batter was crispy... Until the last doused it in vinegar? Definitely recommend this takeaway as the food was very good.
