Flip, I'd never seen anything like it. Exceedingly bizarre, yet exceptionally cool, and definitely a little bit confusing. No, I'm not referring to Blackpool's 4-0 thrashing of Wigan (though that was definitely bizarre and cool). I'm talking about the sheer randomness of Clear Pharmacy in Ballyclare. Imagine this... You've stepped into this attractive looking pharmacy, only to be greeted by a counter surrounded by all different types of confectionery, with huge tubs of sweeties lined up behind the counter, done sweetshop style. Seeing packets of gum at 35p, I grabbed one and continued on. Beyond this first area is what I would describe as a 'normal' pharmacy - toiletries, perfumes, makeup, medicines etc etc. This did relieve the confusion somewhat, and my sister picked up a bottle of deodorant to further relieve her sweaty pits...nice. The last section of this curious chemists was like stepping back in time. What can only be described as a prescription area circa 1900, with its little dark wood ailment drawers, wooden shelves and framework, this was the most bizarre (but also cool) area of the entire shop. Brings a whole new meaning to three-in-one...
