Just back from an overnight stay at The Salthouse. Couldn't fault it the room was very clean and a good size, the food was very tasty and breakfast was cooked to order where as most other hotels serve a buffet style breakfast. The cold breakfast was lovely as well with Danish pastry, fruit salad, yoghurt, fruit puree and some granola on it. Toast was provided if required. The spa was lovely and I fully enjoyed my back massage and husband enjoyed his leg massage. The staff were all very helpful and polite and welcoming. Would fully recommend this hotel and am looking forward to a return visit..

Just checked out after a one night stay to celebrate a birthday, disappointed in service, room was very very warm,, too warm to sleep comfortably. Food nice, breakfast was good, but was told by waiter that the table at the window was reserved for VIP?s so somewhat treated like 2nd class! I will not be back to stay. Pity because I was so looking forward to it as Ballycastle is a location we visit frequently

We recently stayed here for our 20th Anniversary. We booked under the stay and dine package and paid the extra for use of the "spa", so roughly £300 for the night. Maybe it's nicer if you don't book a "package" but we were a little disappointed. The spa is ok, you pay extra per person for the use but are advised its only 15mins per area. There's only 2 hottubs placed within hearing distance of the other so we could clearly hear another couples conversation. Also during our 15min in the tub, another couple were waiting on the deck chairs just willing us or the other couple to leave. Was a little awkward. The room was OK, when you walk out the door you're in the courtyard/smoking area. As non smokers this was unpleasant. Also there were sliding door windows that opened out to a public walking path and seating area. We found that a bit weird too and had to keep the curtains pulled, which defeated the purpose of a view. Also meant we couldn't open it, and our room was extremely warm and stuffy. We turned the heating down but it made absolutely no difference. The shower pressure was awful and we had to hold the shower head to get the suds out of our hair. The dinner was a set menu and it was just OK. Cocktails and breakfast was lovely however. The shining star of our stay was the staff. They were incredible and I can't fault their attentiveness and friendly demeanour. Originally we considered stayng two nights, but we're glad we didn't in the end and stopped at another hotel and spa instead.

The afternoon tea is 10/10. Always friendly staff and wanting to help. The facilities are always clean. The afternoon tea is perfect for those who enjoy cake but also love savoury. Great variety of choice.

An absolutely excellent overnight stay, including a spa treatment, 3 course dinner and breakfast. Thoroughly enjoyed all aspects of the stay and staff were very friendly and professional throughout. All the nice touches as well like having the option of a complimentary newspaper of your choice at breakfast. Didn?t want to leave!

The Salthouse Hotel and Spa is an iconic location. Perched on top of the hill, you have the most incredible views of Rathlin Island and the ocean crashing against the coastline. The hotel interior and exterior design is comforting yet luxury. There are 2 restaurants to choose from, one within the hotel and another besides the complex. You can fine dine within the hotel, with meals such as lamb shank or steak, alternatively visit The Lookout for a more casual experience with burgers or pizza etc. The staff have been wonderful and accommodating. Walking past reception, no matter the time of day, I was greeted with pleasantries. From the Director to the cleaning staff, and everyone in between... They all had a smile on their face for their residents. Looking forward to experiencing the Spa, which looks incredible. With 2 outdoor hot tubs, a sauna and steam room, it's the perfect location to wind down at the end of your trip. Will be returning in the near future!

5 stars from us right away. Easy to find and plenty of car parking. Reception very nice then the room. Spectacular, cosy, with everything required, tea, coffee, biscuits etc, iron, hair dryer and so on. Smart tv with extras. Bathroom amazing. Furniture beautiful, bed the size of a football pitch lol. Views from the windows of the sea. Restaurant and bar fantastic and so up to date. What can I say about the food, fit for a king and his queen. Last but not least, the staff, professional, polite, very pleasant and helpful. Will definitely be back. Easiest 5 ?????????? to award. Thank you The Salthouse hotel.

Stayed here a while back very disappointed could not check into room until 3pm. Arrived at 14.40 to be asked to wait in the bar until 15.00!?An expensive night away for less than 24 hour stay as had to be out by 11am.next day.Room was brutally warm we could not control temperature which meant we had a very poor night's sleep.Receptionist was not overly concerned,or, apologetic when we complained next morning when checking out. Another guest at reception had the same complaint and experience.Dinner was ok, disappointed dessert had processed cream on Sundae.Beautiful hotel and location, bar and restaurant staff were lovely.Overall felt like a rushed experience. No bath in the room after a long day's walking.Hotel needs to review guest comments and make changes. I would recommend for a meal but not value for money for an overnight.

Amazing food and the staff were lovely. Vegetarian option I applaud. The turn off is a bit awkward to find but it was nearing evening time.Food & drinks: Food is lovely, vegetarian selection was varied and first class when it arrived.
