Been harassed on 2 occasions in front of other customers because of 2 separate customers leaving with insufficient funds in their accounts.
Last month I walked in normally to buy some groceries, immediately I was stopped & accused of not having the right funds a few weeks beforehand.

They claimed they had CCTV footage of me, I asked to see it & coincidentally it was erased by accident, they then showed me an insufficient fund receipt with a full bank card number on it that I've never seen before (not mine, not my wifes), even sat outside in my car, in the heat for around 30 minutes to my bank & my wife to hers. When that was done I walked back in & played them the recording to prove they made a mistake, didn't even get an apology.

Today I went in to put a cheque in my bank, the guy who runs the shop told me they don't accept cheques, asking me questions about it even though it had me name on it & it was from HM Revenue, he then called over his wife who coincidentally had her phone in her hand scrolling through CCTV footage obviously another sly way to slow me down & hold up the store again. Anyways she confirmed they do accept cheques to Barclays, she got the envelope out placed on the table behind the shield, I stood the looking like a Spare P***k at a Wedding for about 2 minutes, someone else was in the queue behind me so i said 'can you pass me the envelope please' she slowly & reluctantly slid it under the glass & told me they made a mistake last time still with no apology & said it happened on different day & they definitely have the footage, I said 'ok can I see it please'. She was there just scrolling & scrolling through footage then the funny thing was she then said 'oh we had a power cut on Tuesday so she thinks it was erased' she also showed me a different failed receipt (that wasn't mine or my wife's again) also with someones bank details on it, she asked me to take a photo of the receipt & if I could contact my bank to verify if it was me or not, I said to her you want me to take photo with someone elses bank number on it, she then put 1 thin line through the number with the numbers still clear as day. I just ignored it I took the photo then deleted it as soon as I got in the car.

Now I'm not claiming it's racism but I am a black man I've lived in the area for 2 & a half years & to be truly honest I've probably seen 1 or 2 other black people pass by. I've never felt more embarrassed for fact of them holding up the shop to harass me in front of other customers, I will never use that tiny overpriced shop again or their post office, I'd rather spend the fuel & travel elsewhere than to be a target.
