Simon and his staff were fantastic on Sunday 20th July when we had our Grandsons Christening at the pub .
Set the tables up together for our buffet.
They were as usual efficient and friendly so much so family and friends commented on how lovely the pub is .
Thank you for everything it?s much appreciated
We?re lucky to have you all..

Great little pub! New owners recently have made a massive difference. It's extremely old features remain, with it's 'oldy worldy' feel, but the service and atmosphere are such a welcome addition! Lots of space outside with both a grass and paved area. We love it here! No food at present but we're hoping that changes soon.

Rowell Charter Inn, Rothwell: No Lattes, No Fuss, Just a Proper Pub ???
If you?re after a quinoa salad and an oat milk cortado, keep walking. But if what you really want is a good pint, a friendly chat, and a seat that feels like it?s got your name on it, then the Rowell Charter Inn in Rothwell is calling your name in a well-worn Northamptonshire accent.
The Vibe: Old-School and Proud of It
This is a proper pub?the kind where the bar staff remember your order, the locals know your dog?s name, and there?s no need for apps, QR codes or foam art. You?ll find a dartboard, a jukebox, and the comforting scent of well-aged wood and freshly pulled ale.
It?s unfussy, it?s friendly, and it?s a sanctuary for anyone tired of ?gastropub nonsense? and neon cocktails served in watering cans.
The Drinks: Beer, Wine, and None of Your Fancy Business
No skinny soya lattes or beetroot matcha here?just well-kept real ales, cold lagers, and wine that comes in proper glasses and doesn?t cost half your weekly shop. Whether you?re a pint-of-best kind of person or just after a cheeky glass of red, you?ll find your match without needing to study a drinks menu the size of War and Peace.
The Crowd: Everyone?s Welcome
There?s no velvet rope or ?book your barstool? here. It?s walk in, sit down, enjoy yourself. Locals, regulars, newbies, and pub quiz warriors?all are welcome. Just don?t ask for a frappe and you?ll be fine.
The Verdict: Five Stars for Staying True to Itself ?????
In a world of over-complicated pubs trying to be everything to everyone, the Rowell Charter Inn proudly remains what a pub is supposed to be: a place to unwind, enjoy a drink, and catch up with real people.
Five stars?plus a silent toast to every pub that still knows how to pull a perfect pint without needing a barista qualification.
Long live the proper pub.

Visited over the weekend with friends, very abrupt young man behind bar who was busy chatting at lower area and ignored customers. Also he addressed fellow staff in a manner I would consider unacceptable, swearing and sullen. Not a good representative for a business!!

Absolutely love this pub.
Have visited previously with a different landlord in charge, & was unimpressed, but I heard it had changed hands so had another look.
Totally different, very welcoming, vibrant, & friendly now. Much cleaner & much better offering, the new (?) boss has certainly lifted the place, happily chatting to all customers.
Will definitely be back!

Cant comment on the food as I did not eat, however the beer was ol but over priced, the service was good, but the smoke in the entire pub from an open fire was unbearable. Spoilt it
