Great place for a tea / coffee and a light brunch..... Exceptional service, no dramas and a pleasant atmosphere.... Very relaxed and informal.... Would definitely visit again when passing... Parking can be a problem directly in the town square....

Went for a family lunch at the Greedy Piglet. We've never had a bad lunch here & it's always pretty busy, with today no exception. A booth became available & we settled in. Two of us went for a breakfast, one for a ham & cheese sandwich & I went for the burger. We had milkshakes (always delicious) as well. We all thoroughly enjoyed it & were very full! The girl serving brought a can of drink for my daughter for free, apologising for a delay. We hadn't noticed the delay, but it was a busy Saturday lunchtime, so inevitably the kitchen would be strained. Two diners were far less patient & began to get loud & grumpy before kicking off very loudly at the staff. The poor young girl serving them was soon in tears after the cafe politely refused to refund the full meal, as rudely demanded by the shouting visitors. They may have had a point. I don't know. What I do know is they behaved horrendously & showed no remorse for leaving a young girl in bits. Shame on them. Anyway, they failed to ruin our experience & we will absolutely be back.

The best coffee in Oundle in my opinion (it?s often just not strong enough), a great selection of cakes (coffee cake and scones are my personal fave) , you always get a warm welcome from the friendly team and they?re dog friendly. The prices are very reasonable too. If you head there in the afternoon you can might even get a seat outside in the sun

We are visiting Oundle and thought of giving this place a go for breakfast. Absolutely a disastrous place and will not recommend it all!- front/serving staff looked unhappy and unwelcoming- americano coffee came less than 3/4 of the cup and no milk was served; asked for some hot water to top it up and was charged 50p for it- cafe latte was returned as it was served tepid and not hot- ordered bacon roll with extra mushrooms at a charge - was served with a dry and overcooked bacon with 6 thinly slices of mushroom, not even a full button mushroom- ordered runny poached eggs on toast with extra mushrooms at a charge - was served with overcooked eggs and boiled looking mushrooms similar to tinned mushrooms- ordered strawberry milkshake and served with cold milk with strawberry flavoured syrup sitting at the bottomWe kindly prompt the staff of what we ordered and what we were served, and although they took it back, the unhappy faces and gestures says it all.We settled and waited more until I have finished my now tepid americano, here came the lady chef who barged in to our table unhappily served the bacon roll to my husband and shoving the box of mushrooms onto my face and said rudely "I am very busy but this is the mushrooms we use".Across us was an old couple who also commented "My God that was rude?!". When they finished, they came up to us very concerned and asked how we were. They also commented that they are regulars and they do think the place isn't what it used to be.Absolutely lost our appetite so had asked the front staff to cancel the food orders and requested for a refund. Spent another half an hour for the manager to get to the shop to arrange the refund. Yes, she arranged for the refund but made sure two coffees and the hot water top up were charged!Even when busy, for £27, poor attitude and poor quality of food ensures we would go elsewhere in future.

I popped in to takeaway two vegan sausage and egg breakfast rolls with added hashbrowns and mushrooms.I got home to find the eggs were completely missing and a black hair was attached to one of the rolls. My expectations are not overly high but a complete order and a less furry breakfast would be nice.

This cafe is in an amazing old building with what looks like the original flooring. Thousands of pairs of feet have worn down the stone flagstones into grooves showing where folks have used the building for various purposes over the years. If the walls could speak I'm sure they would have a fascinating tale to tell. Now it is a cafe, and a good one too. Nice atmosphere, pleasant staff and interesting decor. The cakes look good, though not outstanding, but my coffee was spot on. I hope to be back.

Arrived at a spacious cafe with a counter full of well scented cakes and pies all apparently home made... well mouth watering but, I had to abstain as the day was so hot, I needed to hydrate and watching waistline. The staff were very helpful, cheerfully and chatty too. So, definitely going back due to the lovely staff as well as one (maybe more ?) tasty slice of something (if my self-discipline will likely fail) ..... so, if you're in the area you have to make a visit... as food choices do extend to meals too

I went in with my brother for a snack for me and a breakfast for my brother. Brother was given his coffee before his breakfast was made and he asked to take it back to keep it hot til the food came. The waitress said " what am I meant to do with it " and that she would get into trouble ?. I ordered a sausage roll and a steak bake. The sausage roll was dry and hard and it snapped when I bit it. The steak bake was dry and when I opened it I saw two small bits of "meat" inside. I asked the waitress to change it as it was inedible, when she brought a replacement I asked her if she would eat it and she laughed and said "probably not". I asked her to take it back and for a refund, I was told I was not getting a refund and to leave the cafe. That is NOT how to treat customers but I suppose if you employ sub standard staff who give sub standard service and serve sub standard to inedible food then its not surprising that the place was empty on a Saturday mid morning. Food awful, staff rude and inexperienced and place not very clean, would certainly NOT return
