Great gym

Whilst Virgin Collingtree undoubtedly has the best indoor and outdoor pools in the area, the actual club itself has gone down over the past couple of years. The cleaners are great but there aren?t enough of them, especially at the weekend and the showers and floors are often very dirty. The changing areas need a complete makeover and there is inadequate cover when class instructors are off sick or on holiday. For the price Virgin charges it isn?t good enough.

£130 per month and the air con hasn?t worked adequately for 3 months. Unusable in the current temperatures.

Disgusting club and customer service. Taking money, month are after month even when promised the membership was cancelled. Blaming internal processes. Horrific and would never recommend.

A disgraceful place how it treats its members and they just pass the buck from person to person. No one has a clue what is going on and head office is just as bad.

A Life-Changing Experience with Paul Goredema at Virgin Active Collingtree!
I signed up for personal training sessions without fully knowing what to expect?what I received went far beyond anything I imagined. Being coached by Paul Goredema (Mr Zimbabwe himself!) was not only an honour but a transformational experience.
I had never stepped into a gym before, let alone lifted weights with a Personal Trainer. But Paul met me exactly where I was?no judgment, just a careful assessment of my starting point and a plan to avoid injury. We began with small weights, and each week he gently but firmly pushed me to the next level.
Fast forward three months, and not only has my gym attendance remained consistent, but I now confidently train on my own, applying everything Paul taught me. My body has changed significantly?and as a woman getting older, lifting weights has been vital for supporting / maintaining bone density, strength, and confidence.
Paul is generous with his knowledge, careful in his approach, and absolutely world-class in how he motivates and trains. Before my sessions even ended, I?d already encouraged a friend to sign up?and now she?s on her own body transformation journey!
Thank you, Paul Goredema, for being the Top Top Top personal trainer that you are. And thank you Virgin Active Collingtree for having such an incredible professional on your team. ?

Windowless gym so a dull boring experience. Snooty clientelle which made it even more off a dull experience. Good selection of facilities. Plentiful parking.

Can't get on any machines because there's 5 school kids on 1 machine taking turns for an hour.no bicep/triceps machine anymore or any real decent selection.cant hear your music through your ear phones due to the classes everyday pumping loud music like it's an indoor festival .pools freezing, changing rooms freezing.no more massage facilities .new cafe is an absolute rip off and I'd say the worst thing of all the gym doesn't even open its doors till 6.30am.if it was to open at 6am I could get there early do my workout on there small selection and get out and avoid all of this but for some reason although most people have protested in the gym for a 6am open they still don't listen to there customers but charge £100 per month for an average gym at most.im going to see if there's a way out of my contract and join pump gyms.Service and facilities down and price up

Great place to go to the gym, friendly and helpful staff. Bit pricy but worth every penny. Great swimming facilities!

I tend to have a personal training sessions weekly. They may be costly but keep me on target and support me reaching my goals in a health and safe way. With Jackie my trainer?s expertise coaching me and encouraging me to be on top of my game. I?m probably in better shape than I have ever been.

Not my home club, but I visited while in the area and had a fantastic experience. Rebecca, the lovely lady at reception, made everything seamless and stress-free. She was calm, composed, and incredibly helpful in granting me access to the club?all with a warm and welcoming smile. Her professionalism and kindness truly stood out. She embodies the highest standards of customer service and genuine care. A true asset to the team!

My first month at the gym has been fantastic. Highlights for me have been Alison's high tempo, full on, fun, Aqua Aerobics class & Personal Training sessions with Paul.

I had an absolutely awful experience during my last visit to the pool. I was shocked to see a lifeguard cleaning the floor around the pool with a brush and dipping it directly into the pool water?while people were swimming! Even worse, they were cleaning the floor right in front of the benches where people were resting, which was both unhygienic and disturbing.
It was appalling to watch dirt and debris from the floor being washed into the same water we were supposed to be swimming in. This is completely unacceptable and raises serious health and safety concerns. I expected better maintenance and attention to hygiene from a facility like this.
Until these practices are addressed and proper cleaning protocols are implemented, I cannot recommend this pool to anyone.

The location and equipment levels make this gym a great choice for individuals who want to work out. Lack of any direct competition means the gym is pretty arrogant about it when it comes to family members. As a family member (children aged 4 to 8 years old) the facilities and services provided to cater for parents and kids are very disappointing and make it impossible to justify the children's fees, especially when you pay extra for the swim classes. The management does not seem to consider parents or children when making decisions about how services are provided and it keeps getting more restrictive. A great example are the reduced hours and capacity of V-club to look after children and enable parents to work out - should be available after school hours and longer, upto at least 7pm. Also lack of classes for children doesn't really explain why such a high fee is charged. If you don't want to provide the right level of services then reduce the fee charged for kids - it's unfair that they seem to be subsidising for others and making it difficult for parents to also enjoy the gyme facilities. Looking forward to other gyms opening, like David Lloyds centre - might change Virgin active approach.
