I would not visit this place again, I went to Halfords Kettering Northants because I have family member that works at a different branch, I took my car in with funny noise keep happening when I turned on the engine and oil light on. At first they were good and told me it was timing belt on diagnostic collection, which I thought was a little strange considering very low mileage. However I drove the car home because I was with my daughter only 3 years. I phoned later to book appointment next availability was 2 weeks time and they quoted me £1000. I phoned a few days before hand and told me they haven?t received the part, the attitude was very unapologetic considering I was advised not to use the car therefore I had no car. I phone the day before still no part even though the manager lied to my husband saying he had the part just waiting for the tool kit. Conveniently the day of the appointment the manager called to say they had it all we can bring the car straight away. After lots of distress from this luckily we had booked appointment with peugeot not until a week later though, I had to take out a courtesy car and when I went to collect my car from Peugeot the dealer they said we had been conned if we had gone to Halfords for the work it wasn?t the timing belt as Halfords diagnosed but just a starter motor and alternator, which was done for free under warranty.
Please never go here terrible customer service and fraudulent behaviour and manager just doesn?t care.

Don?t even know where to start with this review. Booked on two separate occasions with this branch and the customer service was appalling. Booked an appointment and paid a surcharge for my tyres to be done, only to arrive at the garage and be told upon arrival that they did not have my tyres and didn?t know when they would be in. They made no effort to contact me prior to arrival. I was then told after waiting an hour and a half that the would not receive my tyres on the day and they would have to reschedule my appointment. This resulted in me needing to find an open branch to an emergency tyre due to a puncturing that needed fixing that day hence the appointment chosen. After cancelling the appointment I then had to chase up my refund as they did not process it on their end despite not completing the work.
Upon finally getting around to booking a new appointment with the branch I took my car in for my appointment only to arrive this time and be told that they wouldn?t be able to start work on it for a few hours because they were overbooked. This resulted in my car taking hours longer than I accounted for and being started well after the appointment I?d booked. When dropping the car off I specifically asked for the one new tyre that was already on the car to be returned to me after the appointment which wasn?t done and when I chased it up they claimed the tyre had a puncture. Upon inspection of said tyre no puncture was present, leading me to query why returning it to me had been a problem in the first place. The problems didn?t finish there. I then took my car on a long distance drive to find it was now completely unsteady and shaking when driving. I took the car back to the garage where I was informed that the wheel alignment/balancing I had paid for hadn?t been completed despite the invoice stating it had been. they took the car back in and claimed to have fixed it but nothing changed. I am extremely disappointed in the service I have received and wouldn?t recommend this branch to my worst enemy. Clearly untrained staff and extreme lack of people skills and customer service training.

Went for MOT and failed on something that Halfords quoted me £500 to be fixed. Called around a few garages and no one quoted anywhere near that price- Went to Kwik fit down the road who fixed it for me £152 and went onto pass the MOT.

Halfords Autocentre, Kettering
I recently went with my mum for her car?s MOT at Halfords Kettering and unfortunately the experience wasn?t great. The manager, Scot, spoke to me in a dismissive way which felt unnecessary, especially as I wasn?t the one who booked the MOT.
The car failed at first for a bulb, wipers, and the washer system. Our local garage later fixed these easily and told us the washer sprayer was just blocked, which Halfords hadn?t explained. On the retest, the MOT failed again for a brake light bulb that had been replaced less than 20 minutes earlier. Our garage checked it straight away and said it hadn?t been fitted properly. This made the process feel untrustworthy.
When the MOT finally passed, it was done very quickly with no clear explanation. While waiting, I also noticed Scot being short and even swearing at another customer, which didn?t come across as professional. Other staff were joking around rather than focusing on customers.
Overall, I found this branch unprofessional and not very trustworthy. I don?t plan to return, and I think service here could be improved a lot with better communication and respect for customers.

Please don?t be fooled by the free MOT IF YOUR A MOTORING CLUB MEMBER ITS BIG CON
I became member last December when I needed new battery and it was sold too me offering me free mot when my current one expires.
Well my car had its mot today last week it had a new tyre , and full service by my recccomened garage normally when they service it they will give it mot at the same time and it always passes with flying colours . But as I had free mot with Halfords I thought I would make use of the free mot bad move STEWART are be honest on the way over I thought nothing in life is free I wonder if they will find something so they can get some money for the mot but I tried to convince myself it was free ? well when it was mot guess what it failed ?
Its failure was rear side seat belt mechanism so when I. Collected it I was advised of its bought back in ten days it wouldn?t be free retest it would be £27.50 even though the seatbelt should come under free retest so I then took it too my garage in burton Latimer and all it was it was catching on my dog guard ?yes they aren?t allowed to move parts so why they couldn?t call me to ask me to remove the dog guard so the seat belts moved freely I would popped back it would passed I was fuming so I?m now having my normal mot testing station to give me a mot so yes I didn?t get free MOT
Outrageous service when I called them they wouldn?t even let me bring the car back to de mot the car I was told we are now fully booked
Disgusting service ??????????

Worst experience as a premium membership for the MOT, failed for few minor things and ask for the quote that also not provided...will not renew membership.. , can't even give one star but on other option so given one star...One of the guy was rude as well.....please avoid going to such garage....gone to another MOT center they fix with a fast response..

Called up about an Aircon check up as it says on their site they are able to do it checked on the site and kettering is listed but have been told they can not do it as they dont have the right equipment to do it

Great job, Roger was very friendly and professional.**
Just picked my wifes car up from a full service (£240) and MOT (£49) at Halfords Auto Centre in Kettering, To my surprise, I was charged an additional £50 for adjustments to the headlight beam and rear brake tension. This extra charge was never mentioned beforehand, and I feel misled and frustrated. I would have expected the cost to cover the full service and MOT without unexpected fees for such minor works. Transparency in pricing and services is crucial, and I believe this additional charge was unjustified. I hope Halfords will address this and reconsider their communication and pricing practices for future customers.
I?ve used Halfords Kettering on numerous occasions in the past for MOT?s and servicing, but this will certainly be the last. They now seem determined to find any sort of way to squeeze a few quid out of you.

Long wait in queue. Numberplate costs 18 pounds. Online elsewhere, 9 pounds with cheap delivery. I shall shop elsewhere next time.

I am a Halfords basic member but had the premium membership in my basket in order to take advantage of the free MOT. But I am happy I read the reviews. Don?t be lured by this free MOT as clearly this place is not ethical and thrives on dishonesty. Deliberately failing MOTs to boost add on sales is unethical work. I would be stuck paying £4.99 a month and a failed MOT which require another £45 to retest? Save your money and go to INnOut Kettering - waiting area is second to none and you have the opportunity to retest for free in 10 days if your MOT fails. Disappointed in the Halfords brand.
