Awful service just now at Timpson Daventry when we went in for a new watch battery. Usual guy was on his personal mobile outside the shop. Young lad serving seemed inexperienced, no eye contact or conversation. Proceeded to try to open the watch before even giving us a price. When we requested this the other guy reluctantly came off his phone to advise. The young lad then took ages to remove the watch back. He didn?t seem to know what he was doing. We asked the other guy still deep in his mobile conversation for assistance which he replied ?he?ll get there in the end?. He didn?t though and we had to wait for the phone conversation to eventually finish so he could remove the back. Finally get a new battery but the time on the watch wasn?t set. When I asked for this to be done (as it always has been on many previous times I?ve used the service) I was advised ?we don?t do it for everybody?. Reluctantly this was done after I insisted it was, however I was asked to advise the time (despite mobile phone available as noted above). Was then handed the watch, no thank you, and I saw that the time wasn?t even set correctly. Have been a regular customer of this branch for more than 20 years. Will never return, the quality of the members of staff today was poor and customer service was zero. Clearly it was too much trouble that we were interrupting a personal phone call. John Timpson - I?ve heard you talk about your values and customer service expectations, today you have been badly let down. Will copy this review into an email for you as well.

Absolutely spot on, came for 2 new van keys, job took a little longer than expected but for some reason we have that Friday afternoon van that is never easy! Dave stuck at it, a true warrior! Thanks so much for all of your efforts. 10/10 service!

Took in a watch for a new battery and got talked into having a lifetime battery which I now regret agreeing to. Told it would be an hour, so collected it after then. On next wearing the watch, a few days later, realised it was scratching my wrist. There was a sharp edge, obviously where it had been prised open to change the battery. I took it back to the shop and he as good as said I was making a fuss about nothing. But I explained it was fine to wear before the new battery was put in but not now! His attitude was awful. There was no one else in the shop and he was on his mobile when I walked in. Eventually he begrudgingly said he would put it under the polisher but it wouldn't be ready for an hour which would have been 5.30pm and the shop is notoriously known to shut early so may not have been open on my return, and I couldn't wait an hour as I was being picked up. Good customer service would have polished it rather than argue about it. Feel I have paid out a lot of money for something I cannot wear. I will not be going back or recommending.

Usually not too bad - occasionally wayward opening times, other issues like card machine not working lol - but on this occasion my mother who only had the one key to a premises - still suffering a bereavement and sorting out a lot of these practical issues - had a new issue of the guy losing that one key. It was only after his wife came and had a look did she eventually find it. He didn?t offer any apology, nor seemed to care. ???

Chap running the place is an idiot. Turned myself and another customer away because closing shop for lunch. This is not advertised on website. He will never know what business i was offering however i know never to bother visiting this Timpson again. If he had been bothered to find out what service i needed and offered a reasonable turnaround then i would have gone to local coffee shop for lunch and done my shopping. However the other local businesses miss out as well due to this chaps attitude

Really disappointed, had brought cufflinks for my godsons birthday and taken them to be engraved. Went back 45 minutes later to discover that they had made managed to do them different orientations, so looked awful in the presentation box (which they had been left with and knew they were going back into).
Chris who served me laughed whilst telling me, which wasn?t great. Could have been nervous laughter but still not good.
They did give me the money back for the cufflinks but offered no other compensation or real apology.
So had to reorder them and so missed getting these to my godson in time for his birthday.
When I spoke with David the manager, he was very patronising on the phone, again laughing (so I?m guessing he trained Chris) ?ok my dear? ?your very welcome my dear?.
Certainly don?t live up to their slogan ?great service and great people?!?.

Absolutely terrible customer service, went in for a key cut, guy said nothing I can do with that and turned round back to his work, he never even said hello or sorry. Why work in a customer facing job when you're so rude. Will not be using here again. Can't rate lower than one star

Popped in to have some keys cut and stupidly didn't catch the guy's name, but the service was excellent. Both new keys work (I appreciate you'd expect this as a minimum but I've had keys cut elsewhere that didn't work) and were cut quickly, the chap in the shop was friendly too ??

Very disappointing service this morning. The staff are usually so friendly but not this guy. Went in asking for a key cut, on crutches after op so a friend dropped me in and was waiting. He was quite offhand and said he could do it but I'd have to come back in an hour as he was busy. No one else in the shop. Explained re crutch/not driving and asked please wasn't it possible to wait as I've always done there previously. He shrugged then answered his mobile phone. Didn't even say "sorry I can't help". It would only have taken 5 mins. Really poor customer service. Thank goodness for Through the Keyhole who came out as do mobile key cutting. Won't be using Timpsons again.

Needed a key cutting and visited Timpsons in Daventry. Dave was serving and he was brilliant. Lovely attitude, very customer focused and friendly. He is a real asset to your business and should be recognised as such. Keep it up Dave!

Went in to get a new car key case, guy broke the chip opening it and nobody was working who could programme a new chip for me, car was parked in the aldi car park which is only a 3 hour stay so I had to get an emergency locksmith to programme a new car key, new case was supposed to be 65, ended up costing me 180, at least the guy cut the key blade to match the broken key.

Took 2 trophies for engraving on Friday, was told would be ready Monday no problem. Went to collect at 5pm Monday and was told they weren't ready and probably wouldn't be able to do them in time for Saturday. Wasn't bothered about not delivering to the deadline they set themselves. Don't say you'll do work and then not deliver as we could've taken them somewhere else and not lost 4 days. Guy wasn't apologetic and basically didn't give a monkeys. Poor excuse for a service.

What a star Craig is. Saved me literally £100s on a new car key by sorting out the old one. Really happy.
