We popped in here today around 4 and before food was formally available but the chef was brilliant and happily cooked early for us. We had his home made pies- a steak and ale one and a three cheese and onion one. Wow! So delicious and everything was actually made by him (so many places claim home cooked food that clearly is bought in). Proper chips like your mum used to make and gravy to die for.

Five of us went for a meal and had a great evening. The quality of the food was great and cooked so well. Simon as a host, chef, and the team, were excellent and the atmosphere in the pub was also very enjoyable.
I thoroughly recommend a trip to the Maltsters Country Inn for that enjoyable experience.

We popped in Saturday lunchtime. The ?Chef? Simon was friendly and lovely. I asked for the cider mussels but I?m not that keen on Chorizo. That was no problem. The mussels were great and the sauce was excellent. Simon recommended the cheese pie, which my partner had and he thoroughly enjoyed his meal too.
If we are in the area again we will definitely be back. Great pub, great food and a very pretty village. Superb.

Called in on Pie night with my daughter in law, as where we usually eat weren't serving food.
Not disappointed at all. Thursday is pie night and the pies were lovely, as we're the peas and onion gravy.
We will definitely be back, the service was good too, very attentive.
And, as a bonus, they do take outs too, which will be very handy!

I can?t praise this place enough. Simon was great from start to finish, super friendly with a warm welcome! I had planned a surprise 60th Birthday meal for my mum with close family & she was completely shocked that we had managed to keep this a secret. Simon was a fantastic host, with exceptional home cooked food. You could tell how passionate he was about delivering good quality food. Nothing was too much trouble & he went above and beyond, I cannot thank him enough for a fabulous experience? If you haven?t been yet, I suggest booking in! We will be back.. especially for the Sunday Roast which has rave reviews xx

I didn't use the hotel service. Amazing food and drinks. Was a good time. Going back soon for the pie night on Thursday. The inn did have a busy Saturday lunch so not everything on the menu was available however it was clearly communicated. Would highly recommend.

I popped in with my friend, her daughter and my dog for Sunday lunch. They were able to seat us quickly even though there were a number of people in there. I had the Sunday roast which was excellent, the Yorkshire puddings were a real highlight as they were good homemade ones. The portions were excellent and it was a really filling meal.
Staff were all friendly and we were advised that should we wish to go back they recommended booking for a Sunday lunch as they can?t always guarantee space.

Such a lovely pub, very friendly, food was fresh and very tasty. Great range of board games for a bit of entertainment.
Great location for a stop off, as it's just off the A road.
Simon the chef was very chatty and made us feel welcome and recommended some great dishes.

My fiance and I were staying at the Fawsley spa hotel but popped down to the Maltsters for a change of scenery. Even though they had 2 parties booked they squeezed us in and the food was exceptional.
Simon greeted us with an explanation on the menu and me being a vegetarian I ordered the cheese and onion pie. The pie was like no other pie I have ever eaten before.
All the locals were lovely even though we were not from the village and Simon even gave us a pie to take away. I couldn't speak more highly of this pub or the service.
Thank you hopefully we will be back again soon!

Popped into the Maltsters for a bite to eat and a drink on my way back from London to Nottingham.
Lovely little pub and fantastic value.
Simon informed me it was pie night and for £10 for pie, chips and peas, I wasn't expecting such high quality. I think it is £16.00 on a standard menu night, which is still value such was the quality.
Coupled with a pint for under £5.00, its a good job I'm not local otherwise I'd be there all the time!

This is our new local after just moving to the area. Talk about making us feel welcome. Never felt so welcomed even if I am Australian and 6 ft 4 and requested VB on tap....
Myself and my family had a great Sunday roast. I will definitely be back and a regular patron. Cheers Simon and team.

Had an absolutely amazing Sunday lunch here. I think it was the best I?ve ever had! The highest praise I can give. All the family agreed it was delicious and we had a thoroughly enjoyable time as the service matched the quality of the food! Hope to be back very soon.
