I?ve been looking forward to trying this pub out for a while after reading all the reviews?
I honestly don?t know how this place has as many good reviews as it does? we had steak and I can honestly say I?ve never had such a chewy steak sent most of it back to the kitchen. We are really fortunate and love eating out and from growing up in a successful pub you could say I?m a bit picky and know good food.
I?m assuming from all the reviews we went on a night that there was a different chef running the kitchen as I can honestly say that weatherspoons was better than this pub grub and you certainly wouldn?t get canned mushrooms I also think putting the butchers name on the menu wasn?t a strong move as it?s giving bad publicity to them when I personally know that the butcher they use do have great quality meat.

We passed the pub and thought it looked lovely so booked for an afternoon lunch but wish we hadn?t! We ordered chicken burgers which were very chewy and dry , we couldn?t ate it all, it was awful. The friends we met up with ordered steak and both steaks were ordered as rare and they looked quite nice but again tasted like rubber you couldn?t chew it, the mushrooms were tinned and horrible. Overall the chips were okay but don?t waste your money adding the extras like cheese and bacon because you hardly get anything on top. The guy behind the bar was rude when we parked the wrong angle, instead of asking us to park somewhere else and guiding us where to go he just told us to park ?properly?? I really wouldn?t waste your money. It?s a shame because it looks lovely until you get the service and the food!

Bar staff very friendly, however unfortunately for them they work for a rude and aggressive manager. I genuinely hope the bar staff's working environment is OK for them.
Wasn't going to leave a review but then saw someone else had the same experience. Perhaps customer facing jobs aren't for this person.
Businesses in a small town like Brackley survive on reputation, it's a shame to ruin it for one of best pubs in town.

Can't comment on food, but drinks were ok priced. Seemed the liveliest place in brackley on a Friday night!
Decent outside area with heat lamps as well.

A lovely friendly pub. Great food and a fantastic range of beers wines and spirits. Also dogs are welcome and sports on televisions around the bar.
