Great place for a quiet family break

We Stayed In Pear Tree Spa, Monday-Friday But Checked Out Thursday Night Instead Of Having To Rush On The Morning.
Kitchen Was Fully Equipped, Fridge With Small Freezer, Oven and Microwave.
Room Was Lovely and Clean, Found The Bed Had A Dip In The Middle Which Made It Really Uncomfortable and I Ended Up With A Bad Back.
Rooms Were Lovely and Warm, Had Heating Control and Wifi.
Hot Tubs Were Kept Cleaned Throughout Our Stay.

Went for a break after the madness of Christmas and New Year . A lovely place just to relax . Accommodation was great I wanted to take the bed home it was that comfy . Staff were all very helpful . Amenities were just enough for what we wanted lovely family place and if there wasn't enough on site u had Thirsk or Ripon just on your doorstep . Will definitely be going back ?
Rooms: Lovely and clean and everything you needed .
Nearby activities: Lots of lakes to fish in at certain times of the year had play areas for kids on site pub for kids and adults restaurant/cafe indoor pool Spa treatment room if that wasn't enough there was local places to visit .
Safety: Safety signs visible at all lakes and everywhere they were needed .
Walkability: Loads of little walks .
Food and drinks: Cafe in reception block on site pub that had a good selection on site restaurant/cafe good food good value for money .

We stayed in a 6-person Lodge. The Lodge was a little small compared to other places, but it is ok. The facilities were well maintained and the swimming pool was good. Wi-Fi worked well, but not very fast. The staff was friendly, but the response to the requirements was not very good. The check-out time was 9:30 a.m., which was about 30 minutes faster than other places.

A bit in the middle of nowhere but lovely accommodation and great hot tub. Only one gripe is that parents do seem to struggle to control their children, particularly in pubs. Very noisy hen party in bar as well but didn't affect our stay as they were a good distance away from our lodge

Spacious, well equipped lodge in a quiet location near to Thirsk. Enjoyed the opportunities for walking in the area and then relaxing in the hot tub! Nice indoor swimming pool and friendly and helpful staff.

Woodland Lake Lodges was a lovely holiday that was in a great spot in Thirsk. There was lots of pros, but a few cons.
Pros:
* Although it was snowing outside, the lodge remained lovely and warm during our stay.
* Lovely view from our lodge.
* Quiet area, within close walking distance to both reception and the nearby Watermill Restaurant and Harvey?s Bar.
* Lots of lovely animals around site, from goats to ducks, geese and even a black swan.
* A small welcome pack with soap, towels and a few dishwasher tablets.
* Plenty of towels for the family.
* Generally in a clean condition (bedding, towels, work surfaces etc)
Cons:
* The bathroom door had a hole in it.
* There was a brown muddy stain on the carpet in the bedroom.
* The sofa had some questionable stains.
* There were cobwebs above the curtains in a few of the rooms
* Onsite shop is ridiculously overpriced! For example, a small box of tea bags had a retail price of £1.65 printed on the box. The shop was selling by them for nearly £4. A bottle of wine which retails at Tesco for £6 is being sold in the onsite shop for £14.50. Ridiculous. And greedy.
We did have a very good holiday, but just felt that with a little more care, it really could be a much higher quality holiday.

There's a good reason for the mixed reviews. It all depends whether someone visits during peak season and the lodge they stay in.
The lodges are in fact leisure homes with wood cladding with common expected facilities.
We visited during the low season and still lack attention to details and maintenance was noticeable.
I would expect more effort around the jacuzzi area, we were lucky the weather was dry and the surface around the jacuzzi was also dry.
Please note checkout is 9.30am and a £25 surcharge is likely for late checkout.
Rooms: Clean and comfy mattress. Overall basic and slightly dull.
