Comfortable cafe with window seating and views of the surrounding historic buildings.
Lovely coffee, very reasonably priced. Free Wi-Fi.

Fairly large bookstore in the main area of York

Visited the store for a book advertised on the website. Cheaper on the website than in store. Next time I'll click and collect to avoid paying the RRP of £7.99 in the shop. Plus the buy one get one half price advertised on this book with a sticker was confusing so just got this one as didn't know what else was in the offer as stickers on a lot of different sections/tables. I could have asked but theyre was a
qué at the tills and only 3 members of staff I could see. I work in retail so know what it's like so nothing could have been different by the in-store staff. Maybe colour coordinate the stickers so they stand out what's included, I'm sure could be easier but it's only occasionally I go in, so thankyou for having the title I wanted.

Very comprehensive stock, like all such outlets.
Sought out Rose bush gardening and was surprised to find roughly half the available titles had been wrapped in cling film, presumably to prevent browsing. The other titles had no references to the content I sought so I bought no books.
Cafe is very pleasant, though menu is limited. That said, their cheese scones, warmed are very tasty.
Serene atmosphere. Pleasant staff.

Lovely shop, helpful staff with a good cafe. Two ? toilets in store with a lift. Regular events held with authors.
