She could banter with the best and gave me a great laugh.

Comfy bed and clean, paid for breakfast included and got it in a box with cornflakes, flapjack and pan a chocolate which didn?t taste very good and was quite disappointed. Receptionists on shift was friendly though and easy to talk to and find information from.

No frills, no nonsense. In the best place for my trip and only a short bus journey from the centre of York.

Clean, comfortable, peaceful and cheap. Lots of parking and convenient for the university and the local buses to get into the city centre, which run often and have a reasonable price. We arrived late and left early, not having any food and so cannot comment on that.

The rooms were a little dated. But had almost everything you'd need. I am always disappointed that travel lodge rooms no longer have a Gideon's Bible. The staff were extremely helpful, and service was excellent the staff were polite and accommodated our requests but we did feel hygiene was not quite as we'd expect.

Very bad soundproofing, impossible to sleep. Drunk guy shouting and banging on doors might as well be in my room with me. It's currently 3 am and the chances of sleeping are vanishingly small, I'll certainly not book here again

Stayed 1 night (Sunday). Room was a twin room. Room and bathroom were very clean. Bed was comfortable. Very pleased with the room but with the following exceptions:
1. usb changing sockets by the beds did not work,
2. plug sockets were only by one of the beds
3. the £20 charge for my dog I thought was too expensive
4. No net curtain on the window so had to close the curtains for privacy.

This hotel is absolutely fine. Friendly helpful staff. If you want to walk it's about half an hour or there's a very good bus service to the city centre.

Nice comfortable and quiet hotel.
Rooms have recently been refurbished with new bathrooms and large very comfortable beds.
We stayed here for two comfortable, quite night's.
Contrary to a previous review, the shower was excellent.
Hotel is also next to the Black Bull pub which serves good value meals.
Hotel also has a reasonable size free car park and there's a good frequent bus service into the centre of York.

Good value and our king room room was spacious.
Spotless bathroom. Water pressure in shower was okay.
Desk is manned 24/7 and staff are helpful .
A fair bit of noise on corridors though and can hear people go to toilet ect, stomp around upstairs. I would have preferred not to be on the ground floor for this reason.
Nice pub attached. Uber into town was less than a fiver each way.
