Recently went in and they were selling some novelty pens which were ideal for my classroom prize box. I told the lady at the counter, this is what I was buying them for. Without me asking, she spent a fair bit of time going through all the pens to find any more discounted ones that I could purchase for my class. Extremely helpful! Wonderful staff. A very happy class!

Having 02 mobile phones we regularly take advantage of the free cuppa offers and did so in this branch. We hadn't had much at breakfast time so ordered a tomato and mozzarella sandwich each. They were really tasty and accompanied our coffees wonderfuly. Great service from the excellent staff.

My twin brother Stephen and I decided to drop into this Caffe Nero as we were wandering around this part of town and what a great find. Your typical Caffe Nero, light and airy, a glass fronted serving bar showcases the delicious goodies on offer and there's plenty of seating options spread throughout this Caffe Nero despite its relatively small size. We were here on a Tuesday afternoon, we ordered a flat white coffee each, these were served in excellent being steaming hot, we just kicked back and took in the great Caffe Nero cafe we were in. My coffee was good ,from the first sip till the last sup you can tell they use quality ingredients in their coffee and take great pride in the coffee they serve in this Caffe Nero outlet. We both really enjoyed our coffee's in here before we moved on and for a first time visit to this particular Caffe Nero we had a very pleasant experience. This Caffe Nero is easy to locate along Coppergate. Opening hours are ; Monday to Saturday, 7am till 6.30pm. Sunday, 8am till 6.30pm. Well worth checking out if you're in the area .

Let me start by saying that I have always drunk my coffee at Nero's. So today I went with my Husband to the Coppergate Nero's in York. We were met by a man at the door who we have been informed later was in fact the Manager. He told us all the tables were taken and it would be about a fifteen minute wait. No problem to us but apparently a big deal for him. We couldn't wait inside, accepted. We were happy to wait outside until a table became available but he wasnt happy. We were told it was first come for a table and he wouldn't come out to get us. I said well if we are the first outside then surely the table will be ours. NO BECAUSE ITS FIRST COME AND I WON'T COME OUT TO GET YOU! It was a no win situation from a very rude, aggressive individual. We walked to the other Nero's in Daveygate quite upset and angry. The lady told us they were full and we said fine if we wait outside and a table becomes available we can come in. She said yes no problem to which I replied well your other shop seemed to have a huge problem. We explained what had happened and she apologised for that situation. I dont expect a reply from the Manager of the coppergate shop because he was the man in question. For a Manager to act in such an unproffesional manner sets no example for his staff and gives your fabulous brand and coffee a bad name. Shame on him.

This is a lovely coffee shop that welcomes wheelchair users and people who have allergies but also people who follow alternative diets. Cafe Nero have really put a great deal of thought into people who are following alternative diets, especially Vegans. I have a severe dairy allergy and with caution I can eat some vegan foods. What I struggle with a vegan I thought only eats plant based food, so why do some vegan foods have milk in them? There is no differentiation as to what milk it is, animal or plant based. Cafe Nero are now advertising up to 12 vegan foods to be found in their shops. This for me is perfect, you can have a breakfast, lunch, desserts and snacks. Not all coffee shops do this. In the one with the red background recently I went into 6 different shops of theirs up and down the country only to find the only food I could eat was bananas or crisps, very disappointing. Unlike you cafe Nero you have listened to your customers and acted upon their requests. If you have an allergy or follow an alternative diet Cafe Nero is the place to go. You?ll go in hungry and leave feeling full and content. Their Coppergate shop welcomes people in wheelchairs. They have total flat access along with a disabled toilet, though if like me you have a large electric powered wheelchair then you?ll find the space is very tight. Especially if you require support from a second person. We enjoyed the vegan meatballs, an egg sandwich, a vegan fruit tea cake and a slice of their vegan ginger cake. All washed down with a hot coconut milk drink. Life doesn?t get much better when you want to go and have a hot drink and food with friends and family.

Went today for a drink and snack. Food and drink was OK but the gents toilet was disgusting, Badly stained toilet seat and when the door was closed the long established dirt on the wall, door and bin was plain to see. If the toilets do not get cleaned properly I wonder how good the rest of the cleaning is done.

Cafe Nero is the best of the big chain coffee shops, and this one in York is the best Cafe Nero I have visited so far. Clean tables, tasty coffee and friendly staff made up for a very cold October night.

Normally I tend to avoid chain cafés but circumstances meant I had to call in here and was pleasantly surprised. Not bad coffee, decent service in a pleasantish environment. Would use again.
