Very mediocre experience at the Whippet Inn. Food was below par, expected big things, ordered the Ribeye med-rare. Came medium, rather tasteless, nice Maillard on the steak, but lacked flavour, no seasoning at all, no S&P on the table either. The tall manager was very attentive though, great service from him. Zero alcohol bottle of beer £6 was a bit mental pricing

The staff are so friendly.
Sadly,the service charge always leaves a bitter taste.Would always prefer to tip the staff directly.

One of my favourite restaurants in York. They cook their steaks to perfection! We usually get their rib-eye with truffle chips or the triple fried chips. They've recently changed their menu slightly which is a shame, their sauces were amazing but they now serve a thick buttery dip instead. Can we bring back the old sauces please!

Went for lunch but was turned away owing to their over 14 year old policy. Our 10 year old obviously not meeting the mark. Looked nice inside but didn't get to eat here.

Possibly the best Sunday lunch my girlfriend and I have ever had! Wonderful & attentive service from our waiter Archie, a refreshingly delicious vegetarian option and top notch cocktails. Would recommend to anyone!

The decor and atmosphere for the place was really nice. The food was overpriced for what it was. The steak looked tiny on the big plate but tasted nice enough. The server were a bit pushy on trying to upsell which was off putting.

We had the Turbot fillet and the beef fillet, both were well prepared and tasted great. We also enjoyed their cocktails and wine selection. Lovely restaurant overall, would definitely recommend to friends and family!

Asked for a table with children to be abruptly told no one under the age of 14 allowed as it?s adults only! If it?s to be adults only it should be no one under the age of 18. Disgraceful discriminating against children
