This for me is one of the best options to eat in York, it is a great option if you want to eat in front of the river with a great atmosphere and great food. Would really recommend the risotto and the chops.

The food was excellent. It took a while for us to be served each course, but it meant we didn't feel rushed. I'm not sure if that was intended or not. Some of the staff were friendly enough, others were not. We were given a very blunt response when we asked if we could move table. I'm sure the waiters get asked all the time, but a friendly response would have been more than okay. We later saw there was a note on the table saying no moving tables once seated, but this was hidden behind the menus. So overall: food 9/10, service 6/10.

This is genuinely a really nice place to have a drink, the outside area is especially nice, and if you're lucky, you can get a very nice seat with a view of the waterfront, the vibe is also calm and cheerful, and the staff are friendly, I've never actually eaten here but the food also looks very good, I can't exactly comment on it more than it looks good, as I haven't actually tried it. The reason I've only given it 4 stars regarding service, is when it's very busy, you have to wait a LONG time for a drink, now that's completely understandable, it's busy, and they probably have about 60 other people waiting on food and drink, but I had to wait at least like 20 mins for a pint of coke when I was on my own, which was absolutely fine because I wasn't in a rush, but if you want to eat and drink with a relatively large party when it's busy, you are probably going to be waiting, which can be a bit testing when you are hungry/want a drink, so I personally wouldn't go when it is busy if you are expecting to have a fast service, but honestly, I wouldn't want to be in and out quick, it's a really nice place to just sit and chill. Anyway, one of the nicest places in York to have a drink, I would highly recommend.

Well may have been nice if we?d been given chance to eat . Asked and were seated on the terrace place wasn?t over busy hardly anyone on 1st terrace or inside before we ordered two tables directly overlooking the river vacated asked if we could move response ?we cannot move tables on the terrace ? we didn?t want to move the furniture we explained we wanted to move . Told not possible - so we decided we could not possibly spend our money on a place with such appalling attitudes towards customers and left . No doubt they will say thrr we y were pre booked but it wasn?t busy there or the rest of the area so unless a bus load was on the way it was just bad protocol and poor attitude

Out for drinks with my two Sisters. We spotted this lovely place from the bridge over head and liked the look of the outdoor sitting area. This is a lovely place to catch up with friends while watching the boats go by. We just had drinks as we'd already eaten. The staff were friendly and we didn't feel rushed into leaving or settling the large drinks bill ?? Very enjoyable visit.

Visited on a Sunday so experienced the Sunday menu.
Key stats:
* Great service
* Great drinks
* Great food
* Great toilet facilities
* Great or poor view depending which side of the restaurant you sit at
The building is quite charming and you feel like you are somewhere nice. It should be noted it feels quite cramped in the building.
The staff do a great job. Would like to visit again during the week.

We booked a table for my sons birthday.
When the food arrived the Fish Fritter was basically fish and chips with curry sauce! You had to order chips separately so that dish was £30 total, for fish and chips! The food was okay but nothing special. We had 3 drinks and 4 main meals .. the total bill was £168..!!! No extravagant main meals ?Service is added on to a table of 4 of £19?!! Really??? the waitress was nice but she did her job, she took the order and the food was brought to us? is nt this normal service?? Iam shocked by this restaurant and the charges ?I don?t feel this was represented by the food? unfortunately won?t repeat this experience?I felt taken advantage of.

Sorry for michelin you are so far..26/07 around 4 pm . I was with my family. Good, provide us to the table.And forget about us for min 20. I came to bar ,i ask about waiters. 4 were standing with finger in nose. Yea after i was served. Wow. They got 12.5% charge for service? Nice place. But not expect service there.barmen was kind and girl who we paid.

Such a let down for a friend visiting the city for his Birthday. We went on a Sunday for the roast dinner. I had the beef, and the meat was cooked beautifully. The rest of the meal was the let down. Flavourless gravy and greens, and the roast potatoes were stail and soggy. Loads of room for improvement

Been to harome , been her quite a bit , faultless, just our last visit not a good experience.
Brought my daughter in law who was visiting from south africa , . Arranged for a welcome card from the star for her as this was special, no card , asked the waiter , didn't know anything so asked someone else ,, sorry sir I forgot ill do it ASAP, we'd finished our meal then it arrived ? Waiting an eternity for drinks , too many waiters and waitresses serving us getting all confused , no personal service , on the positive side , food was A1

My partner and I ordered 2 simple drinks that we thought wouldn?t take long, we waited over 20 minutes and other people who sat after us got their cocktails first. We decided to leave and no one noticed or even apologized for the wait. Will not be returning
