Great little place to stop.... Err value for money doesn't do it justice! Great staff and room was clean. Location is great. Not the poshest place, but really good for the money.

Family dinner for 6. Very friendly, welcoming and attentive staff - but not crowding us with over attention. Pretty good variety in the menu. Food cooked well and in good time. Thank you - a positive experience for us.

Greeted by Louis as soon as we walked and he moved two tables together for our group of 6. We ordered from the main menu, Lasagne, burgers, and pizza; it was absolutely delicious. Our food was brought out by Nicky, who was so lovely and helpful. We have been three times this holiday and visited here last year too. This place is relaxed, friendly and welcoming. The food is amazing and really reasonably priced for decent home cooked food. Visit, you won't be disappointed.

Been here several times for a meal, each being perfect, had Parmo but not with the fries and garnish, wanted to change them for chips and veg, this was no problem at all, really friendly staff and great atmosphere.

Had a fantastic lunch at The Royal Oak yesterday. My husband had lamb, I had scampi and our son had a fab lasagne for just £1. Great service - lovely food - great value and much recommended.

Went to the pub downstairs with a group of 6 and the service and food were both great. Ended the night playing pool and having beers. Both bartenders provided great service

A very friendly, welcoming pub. All the staff were lovely, particularly Connor who served food and cleared tables. It was refreshing to see someone with such a strong work ethic.
The room was large enough to accommodate all the paraphernalia we need to bring when accompanied by our greyhound. The location was perfect, right in the centre of Helmsley. We couldn't have had a better short break.
