Rooms was clean and to my expectation. Safe parking and location was a close walk to main city centre.

Poos sevice, landlady was rude on arrival, wants a cash payment.
Loud music. Could hear it on the room, complained to the staff about this and nothing was done about it.
Room was cold an beds uncomfortable.

Really enjoyed our one-night stay. Great spot for watching the football and having a quiet beer. The room was clean and tidy, though a bit dark and slightly cold and the bathroom fan was a little loud. Overall, a very good experience?would definitely stay again.

My drink was served in a filthy glass and tasted like it had been watered down, when brought to the attention of the manager she became rude and obnoxious. Would recommend not visiting this pub

The Nags Head is a nice two roomed pub. The bar has a dartboard and a pool table. There are TVs showing Sports. There is a good selection of draft beers, including cask conditioned hand-pulled real ale, which was in excellent condition when we visited. The staff are very welcoming and the pub is dog friendly.

Stayed at The Nags Head. NOT greeted by the owner. Was in room 5. No heating. Bed broken and the mattress had springs poking out. Reported the state of the bed to the cleaner because the landlady NEVER showed her face all the time we were there (4 nights). She didn't even show herself when we paid. She sent the cleaner to take the payment. Loud noises from 5am onwards. NOT a bed and breakfast. NO breakfast and NO food served in the pub. The stairs leading up to the rooms are actually fire escape stairs which are wobbly and rusty. So called dog friendly, only if you can carry your dog up the fire escape stairs. Very unsafe to walk up. Difficult to go up the stairs with a suitcase/holdall.
DO NOT RECOMMEND. Find a more reputable place than this pub!!!

This is a local pub with rooms, myself and my daughter stayed for 3 nights and liked the place. If you want room service, reception on call etc it's not for you. Keys are behind the bar...and that's it. Access is via some outside stairs (fire escape) and the music can be loud, but we enjoyed it. Two lovely ladies behind the bar, always accommodating and welcoming.Rooms: Clean and simple. Comfy beds. Iron and ironing board. TV and coffee...Nearby activities: A 20 min walk, and you are in York. It's an easy walk, not back streets or anything always felt safe.Safety: You enter via a fire escape at the back of the pub. Not ideal for those with mobility issues. After the pub close I wouldn't know who to contact and if you lost your key you may have a problem.Walkability: 1 mile to York center, 20 mins.Food & drinks: Pub prices are normal, they don't serve food but there a chippy down the road.Noteworthy details: It's a local pub with local visitors. Shows footy and bar prices are good. Doesn't serve food.

We stayed for 3 nights and found the room dirty which had not been hoovered and cleaned for some time. The bath room was disgusting and covered in mould and a health hazard. Under the bed there was food residue. Access was via a fire escape which was not easy to walk up and down and would be found difficult if not impossiblefor a disabled person. I would not recommend this accommodation. Also, some drunken occupants with fifthly language who were very noisy from 11.30pm until around 4.00am as the walls are paper thin and we finally got to sleep about 5am. Although this is not the fault if the owners they are not on site between the hours of 11.00pm and 3.00pm and uncontactable.

Nice room (number 2), comfy beds, good location and lovely towels ?.. that?s the good points. The shower was DISGUSTING?. Spoke to the bar staff on the day of arrival who was already aware. The reviews from months ago say the same. How difficult is it to bleach and clean it? The cleaning team need replacing ASAP ?. Would not advise anyone to book here until this issue is resolved

The room was awful! The room was above the bar and we could hear the guests downstairs talking and laughing. The room was up a set of fire escape stairs,so not wide enough for suitcases. The shower door would not shut and the shower would fill with water. Also the shower was moldy. I won't be returning.
