We have ordered from here multiple times and we keep getting disappointed the delivery is always on time but the food prep is appalling. Sandwiches come constantly not as ordered from minor things as the sauce being missed or incorrect to sometimes not receiving the item we have ordered. I think it is very unfair that this shop seems to be understaffed and they are constantly under pressure filling orders in the shop & online. Overall would not recommend online orders for delivery.

Place is gonna be shut down with in months if you turn away customers at 20.30 when you shut at 21.00. Wouldn't of minded but the young employee spoke to me like dirt soon a I walked through door. "WE ARE CLOSED AND ITS MY DISCRETION" pointed out door was open and closing is at 21.00 asked if he was manager and he soon changed his tone to "you can have a cold sandwich". Too late you dont deserve my money. Went across road instead to try the new chicken place and it was banging so in a way your employee did me a favour.

Walking into this Subway, I was immediately greeted by a scene that felt like it had been pulled straight from a horror movie ? and not in a good way. The place was empty, except for one lonely employee, an old lady with a permanent scowl etched onto her face. Her uniform looked like it had been through the Spanish Inquisition, and she moved at the speed of a glacier. It was like watching time itself slow down every time she turned her head.
I made the fatal mistake of ordering a churro. ?25 seconds,? she said. I thought, ?Great, this will be quick.? Little did I know that her sense of time was based on some ancient, forgotten calendar system. Fifteen minutes later (yes, fifteen), she handed me what could only be described as the saddest excuse for a churro I have ever seen in my life.
This was no churro?it was a limp, cold footlong disaster that seemed to have come straight out of the freezer and into my hands. If they gave awards for the world?s worst churros, this one would take home the gold. It was as if they?d taken an already mediocre snack and somehow made it worse by stretching it out into a ridiculous shape, just to torment me even further.
And don?t get me started on the taste. Biting into it was like chewing on disappointment, seasoned with neglect. I actually wondered if the churro had been made back in the ?70s and just thawed out for me. The fact that the shop was empty should have been my first warning sign, but my foolish optimism led me here.
Moral of the story? Never trust a churro from a Subway where the employee looks like she?s trapped in a time warp. The only thing footlong about this churro was the regret I had for ever walking through that door. Avoid at all costs.

Ordered on Just Eat and it took over 2 hours and 2 phone calls and still no food. They refused me a refund and did something to the order on Just Eat so that it did not show for me to be able to get a refund. Terrible service, avoid at all costs.

Worst Subway I?ve ever had. Avoid this place like the plague. There?s so much competition in York they need to up their game; no wonder the place was empty.
The lady behind the counter was really rude, no customer service skills. The sandwich, which I always order, at other Subways was extremely below par. I asked for it toasted with melted cheese and it was stone cold?
The sandwich was just slapped together. Not the standard of any other Subway I?ve ever had anywhere. Seriously disappointed ??

Other reviews about bad atmosphere are right. The big guy making the sandwiches was rude and clearly didn't give a hoot about his job. He wasn't listening to his coworker either. Just bad vibes all round. No wonder the place was completely empty!

hello, I'm one of the drivers of just eat....I want to say that you have the most personal root of all...I waited 40 minutes to pick up an order that should have been ready at the time of arrival...the deliveries are ignored they speak badly to the drivers and do not respect us... the staff should understand that we drivers represent a customer who is waiting at home for his food to be delivered... the manager did not want to tell me my name so that I could not make a complaint, but this it happened at 1pm on 29/07/2024 maybe someone will take action

If I could give zero stars, I would. Absolutely the worst customer service and rude staff/management. I wish I could inform corporate if how poorly this franchise is run.

**Subway, York - Absolutely Terrible!**
I recently had the misfortune of stepping into the Subway in York, and let me tell you, it was a nightmare from start to finish. The old hag working behind the counter was an absolute disgrace. She had zero manners and seemed to enjoy shouting at customers for no reason. It felt like I had walked into a war zone instead of a sandwich shop.
The sandwiches were a complete joke. Soggy, lifeless, and thrown together with zero effort. It was like the staff didn?t give a damn about what they were serving. Every bite was a slimy, disgusting mess that made me regret even walking through the door.
And don?t even get me started on the wait times. It took forever to get my order, even though there were barely any other customers. Clearly, these clowns have no idea how to run a business efficiently.
Avoid this Subway like the plague. Rude staff, gross food, and endless waits ? it?s not worth your time or money.

Usually I never write bad reviews but as we felt that mistreatment we don?t want other to experience that level of disrespect we endured this afternoon. The Lady at the counter was very rude and practically shouted at us. We tried to be understandable as there was numerous deliveries being prepared however we got zero consideration back. I usually like subways however the subway we got was very soggy to the point it was decaying and the other half of foot long was very dry as the lady was not very considerate and shut us down at every attempt of communication.
The point if this review is not to get anyone fired but state the mistreatment we endured.

Rude staff, absolutely shambolic in store experience. Food tasted ok - standard subway but ruined by the vibe in store and terrible staff. Gentleman by the salad counter and on the till seemed on another planet and the lady very gruff - no greeting, allegedly "unaware" of promotions and not a great place to be. Only come here if it's a necessity!

This had to be the worst experience ever going to a subway. They were lazy and clumsy and made some extremely subpar subs? more than that they overcharged me and kept on questioning me when I wanted to check the receipt. I had to ask for them to give me my sub as they seemed clueless and completely zoned out. Awful experience?

Workers seem miserable. The girl who served me didn't greet me, just barked questions at me "white or brown" , "6inch or foot long". Talking to me like I was inconveniencing her by ordering. When the food was done she just slung it on the counter with a "here you go". Food was ok, hot but bread was slightly soggy on the inside and more cheese than the other fillings.
