“Nice shop with a good mix of shoes, unfortunately not what I wanted. Situated in the main town centre it's worth a look. Parking is the biggest issue with York, you need to plan ahead unless you know the town well”

“The only flaw to this place is the lack of toilet cubicles. We went on 11/11/23 and obviously it's busy, it's Black November sales at an outlet. So the queues for the toilets were lengthy for women.But the sales were great, it's really clean, the shop staff are all really friendly. Lots of parking. Play area outside for kids - under cover so fine in the rain. My top tip is bring your own food. The food queues get chaotic and it's not the cheapest.”

“Looking for school shoes, went in for a browse, not necessarily to purchase. We were approached by Tasha who offered to measure my daughter which was a bonus. We had a look around and explained the style she prefers. Tasha gave us options based on her preference and actually offered a pair that were in the sale with insoles which were not on the shelf. School shoes can be expensive so this was really appreciated and my daughter loved them so we purchased. Thank you Tasha for all your help”

“Came for a click and collect could have had more signage that it was upstairs collection as I had to queue for ages to be told to go upstairs. But once I got the the collection point it was very quick and smooth to collect my parcel.”

“I have been buying Clarks shoes for several years because I have a particular size that it's extremely hard to find in the UK. Plus I only wear shoes that are gentle with me feet. I have been searching some light shoes for the summer in few Clarks shops, but unfortunately I couldn't find my size or they were too hard and they would have ruined my feet. I've almost given up on Clarks until I entered in the York shop and I had the luck to be assisted by a very helpful staff called Deneth who managed to find me a suitable pair of light shoes that I bought. I was quite impressed because he really knew the products and he actually paid attention to what I said which is extremely rare nowadays. Hopefully, Clarks will hire more shop sellers similar with his manners and competencies.”

However when I checked the sizes an L (large) was only for 36-38 inches whereas M&S for example L would fit 43-44 inches(chest) my size. At Matalan I would have had to go to an XXL or XXXL which were not available.”

“My husband and I had breakfast at The Pavement Marks and Spencer in York on 25th August '21.\\nThe staff, Courtney, Sophie and Steph were all lovely.\\nI cannot eat food containing wheat or gluten. And when I asked if the sausages where gluten/wheat free, they went out of their way to find out, bringing to us the food allergens list allowing me to see for myself. As it happens they use gluten/wheat free sausages, which is great. Because of cross infection they actually brought me a pack of four GF bread buns and said that we could keep them with no extra charge as they were not allowed to handle them.\\nI'd like to say a big thank you for being so helpful, understanding abs obliging. This doesn't happen very often. Next time we're in York, we will revisit!”

“Stopped off for something to eat on a recent York visit. Was very quiet for some reason but it certainly wasn't because of the food. We had 3 separate dishes and all were described as very good. I went for the gammon and it was very tasty - the best I've had for some time. Licenced as well so had a cheeky cider to go with my meal. Service was good and prices were fine. Great unrushed visit.”
