We used preston Baker to value our home and viewed propertys for sale with them . Very efficient very useful information given kind down to earth company. Well managed. We only didn't use them as decided to let our property in the end and they don't do this. We would use them in future

Terrible experience - sent them all the info they asked for to get me an "in principle" mortgage decision and chased up several times - even raised a formal complaint - and was assured they were dealing with it. Not heard from them for 6 weeks or more now and it's not like they would have had a problem getting me a mortgage. I have since had 2 "in principle decisions" from other brokers, and am proceeding with Barclays - they approved it in 2 days! Would not recommend.

This is an accurate and honest review, I have all the information in emails and SMS so can back this up.1. I placed an offer on a property which was accepted by the vendor.2. I sent over all my ID details, proof of funds and solicitors details.3. Preston Baker sent the Memorandom Of Sale to myself and my solicitors and the house was taken off the market and marked as Sold STC.4. I submitted my mortgage application and instructed solicitors to proceed, paying the fees.5. Preston Baker rang me to advise they have submitted another offer to the vendor and would I want to match it. I believe this is called 'gazumping', note this was after my offer was accepted and the house taken off the website etc.I tried to raise my offer and then received a further email asking for full and final offers.6. My offer was presumably beaten as it was rejected by the vendor.I have now had to cancel my mortgage application (this may impact my credit score), cancel the solicitors (which I may not get a full refund for) and look for another house. I am sure the vendor is happy as they have a better offer but as far as a potential buyer I would be very wary using Preston Baker as you could agree a sale and then be gazumped later down the line leaving you out of pocket.As you can see from Preston Bakers reply, they will submit any offer during the process even if you have had an offer agreed and instructed solicitors, beware you will end up out of pocket like I have due to the gazumping practice.

Angela has been absolutely brilliant from start to finish! She has responded to all my queries within the day and the communication between Angela, the seller and ourselves has been excellent. I highly recommend Preston and Baker, and Angela especially, she really went the extra mile to help us as the buyers as well as the sellers.

Preston Baker were really proactive in trying to sell my flat and definitely went the extra mile; the online booking system for viewings is very efficient; and the professional photos and video looked gorgeous. Although their fees are higher, I think you get value for money in the effort they put into shifting properties, and would recommend them for anyone aiming for a quick sale.

There wasn't one house that I viewed with Preston Baker that wasn't beautiful, and the price was great and in accordance with the quality. Even though I did not end up renting with them, I highly recommend Preston Baker in York. In particular, Helen Jollands is a top professional and person that will really care for the potential tenant/buyer and their needs, and Holly Stonehouse is another example of an agent that provides top-class service. This agency's professionalism went as far as to providing me with advice, even when I managed to find a house and take it off the market through another agency; they knew that as a new professional, I had struggled a lot with house hunting, and they did not hesitate to help and answer my questions. For all the above, and taking into consideration my experience with other agencies in York, I highly recommend Preston Baker. Had my final viewing with PB been earlier in dates than the one of the house that I happened to take out of the market at that time, I would be renting with Preston Baker now. Worth 5 stars.

Angela is a great asset to the team, approachable and kind. Always willing to go the extra mile for her clients and as first time buyers, we couldn't ask for anyone better! She was there for us and explained everything as needed; I would definitely return to Preston Baker just for Angela alone.

We worked with Angela Williams throughout the purchase of our new home in York. She was wonderful!! We met her on the launch day for the property and she very helpfully played with our two young boys as we looked around the house! This was most appreciated so we could have a really good look at the house without kids hanging off us! She facilitated communications with the vendor and explained their journey to selling. She was genuinely really motivated to support the couple as they had had a bit of a long road to finally selling and this natural interest very reassuring. We feel that we really lucked-out in having Angela supporting us throughout our sale, a very knowledgeable, friendly, and lovely person who we feel was genuinely happy for us when our offer was accepted! Had an issue with a bill resulting in electricity and gas being shut off unexpectedly. Informed Tom Hawes of Preston Baker who is always very responsive and helpful, polite and hardworking. He gets things done quickly and professionally. Liased with billing companies and the landlord on our behalf and he got our electricity issue resolved. Also full of very handy advice. A pleasure to work through house issues with. Can?t recommend Preston Baker enough purely for the professionalism and thoroughness of this man.

I just bought my first home through Preston and Baker, and would recommend them to other buyers: they are responsive and helpful, which is very important when you?re a first time buyer. Overall, the purchase progressed fairly smoothly, and I never felt like I was left on the back-burner at all.
