In my third and final year at university of York so luckily won?t have to put up with this store for much longer?
But being closed on weekends? This leaves the campus with essentially 0 access to necessary amenities. It?s a little bit ridiculous to be honest. The shop used to be open on weekends, albeit with limited hours, but since the start of this year they?ve done away with it? why they wouldn?t hire more staff god knows.
This doesn?t even begin to factor in prices? alcohol prices are probably the most egregious? £8.90 for a 4 pack of Moretti? That?s around a 3 quid markup against general market value. It is of course not out of any moral obligation to get students drinking less, rather aggressive price scalping with a known area monopoly

It is a great place for daily shopping. The store is clean and well-organized, with a good selection of essential products. The staff are friendly and always helpful, providing excellent service. However, the prices are a bit high compared to other local stores. Overall, it's a convenient and reliable shop, but I wish the prices were more competitive.

Everything is expensive, shelves always empty

Everything is very expensive, with little variety and poor quality. Opening and closing times never follow the schedule. I really don't understand why there is only this one supermarket in the university. A horrible monopoly that makes life very inconvenient for students.

I was somewhat disappointed today when, shopping with a friend in Nisa, my attempt to purchase alcohol was unsuccessful. Being blind, and unable to navigate without a guide, my friend was there to assist me, and not to purchase anything of his own. Because he unfortunately did not have his ID to hand at that particular moment, and despite clearly being over the age of eighteen, we were told that, unless we both presented proof-of-age, I would be unable to purchase the alcohol, even after I had emphasised that the purchase was for ME and ME ALONE, and after I had shown my ID. I of course understand and respect the fact that the store would be liable to be fined if it allowed customers to purchase alcohol without proof-of-age, however I would simply argue that, regardless of whether my companion possessed ID or not, his role was purely as an assistant to myself and, as I have previously stated, without assistance, I would be wholly unable to do my shopping. If I had been alone, there would have been no problem, as I carry my ID with me at all times, however this would not be possible due to my lack of vision. This is not me attempting to undermine or criticise the smooth running of the store, however I would say that the level of scrutiny towards people who are clearly of legal age, however necessary, is sometimes unhelpful and frustrating, especially if someone requires assistance due to a visual impairment or other disability, and their assistant just so happens not to have ID on them at the time of purchase.

I was helped by James since I was looking for duck seed and they were out of stock. He suggested me an alternative and the ducks loved it ! Fantastic customer service

Opening times are very unreliable, regularly not as advertised. The product range is poor with ridiculously high prices. An inconvenience store.
