We made a 25 mile journey to clifton Moor as it stated it was open!!! When wr arrived store was shut, last time we will be doing this journey. ???

What is going on at Matelan?
Today Bank Holiday Monday, May 26 2025, I Googled Matelan, Clifton Moor Retail Park near York.
Initially I the Matelan site informed me that the store was 'temporarily closed.'
Looking further down the site it stated that the store was 'open' so not wishing to make an uneccassary journey, I telephoned and was told that the Matelan store at Clifton Moor was indeed open.
Because of conflicting information I requested to speak to a manager, who informed me that the store at Clifton Moor was in fact closed.
My comments are that a responsible organisation, should give trustworthy and non conflicting information.
Conflicting information demonstrates a lack of customer care and should be addressed by senior management.
Also the Matelan Customer Care Centre is based in South Africa.
In my opinion (shared by many) a customer should be able to phone the store and speak to an assistant at the store where they wish to shop.
Being put through to a call centre thousands of miles away, immediately gives the customer the impression, that the organisation is putting profit above service to the customer or client.

Came into the store with my newborn baby and was delighted to find the feeding room! It had a very comfortable feeding chair with changing facilities and an activity board on the wall to keep a toddler entertained. This transformed my shopping experience which would otherwise have been quite stressful. I wish everywhere had one.

Tired to buy some shorts however they were clearly marked. Asked Rachel on tills to check for other pairs, she obviously couldn?t be bothered to look, tried to tell me the marks were where the shorts had been ironed and seemed very dismissive. Overall rude and shouldn?t be working with customers.

I went in yesterday and a lovely lady in the kids section helped me pick out clothes for my baby! She had no judgement about my situation and took interest in my life. Never had such good service before!
