Have just returned from a wonderful couple of days in York and thoroughly recommend this hotel. This is our second stay and both times have been absolutely perfect. Everyone so very friendly, very spacious rooms and extremely comfortable bed. Cannot wait for our return visit.

This Hilton Hotel has some highlights, a great location, a small Gym that I didn't see advertised, an excellent breakfast spread, and super friendly and helpful staff. The disappointment came in the room, which was dated, lacked good ventilation or air conditioning, and had a small bathroom with shower over bath (having a bath is good but I expect a walk in shower in a Hilton).Rooms: 2x Double room was actually quite small and cramped around the foot of the beds. Decent TV with device mirroring but the tuning is not up to date, so some channels are missing. No aircon is a big miss, plus the windows offer precious little ventilation. No walk in shower within the cramped bathroom. All a bit disappointing.Food & drinks: Excellent breakfast spread with a pancake machine that was a win with the kids. The only issue here is that the pancake machine is not cleaned daily, resulting in them sticking to the belts and jamming the machine up. Jammed up pancake machine equals disappointed kids, which equals an irritated parent!

Fantastic stay at the Hilton York,firstly the front of house staff were excellent (Julia Blewitt) and the onsite valet parking for £25 is great,just drop the car outside the front door and they take it to the secure undergrounnd car park and bring it back to the front door on request.We stayed in a suite (room 140) which was a great size with a large corner sofa,table,fridge and huge tv in one room then a good size comfortable bedroom and bathroom with a large rain shower,the views out of the 2 windows were nice and the breakfast next morning was excellent.I would like to note that all the staff in the hotel from maids,to waiting and bar staff all said hello and were extremely friendly.Well done Hilton this is our second stay here and we will be back again.PS the location is excellent as it is straight off the ring road and York city centre is only 5 minutes from the front door.Regards Mike Wright

Great location for visiting York. Nice rooms, nice restaurant friendly staff.Parking is £25.00 per night.Breakfast finishes at 10.00 am. I was a bit disappointed that once it was 10.00 am.The staff started removing the food. Granted, we didn't get down for breakfast until 9.55am. due to my wife being ill. In other hotels I have visited. Breakfast finishes at 10.00am but they leave you to eat until 10.30am.

The rooms are clean and comfortable with decent views. A great quiet location. Excellent location, a ten-minute walk from the train station. They have a lovely restaurant and bar with good food. We booked a conference and lunch whilst using the conference room. We had a dedicated staff member who looked after us and was very professional. The staff are very friendly and always on hand to help. Ample taxis are at your disposal should you require them. The hotel does have a free car park but you must book in advance to secure a slot or there is a paid parking across the road. There are some great restaurants located nearby.

Absolutely amazing place, beautiful hotel smells lovely when you walk in, the young girl on reception (lydia) was so friendly and welcoming she couldn't have been nicer made us feel so welcome.Room was brilliant felt like home breakfast was fab and you are close to everything will definitely stay here again ??

Fabulous Hilton! ?Excellent levels of service and comfort. Super friendly reception team, great view from the room and comfortable bed.Breakfast was exemplary, super attentive service and excellent choice and quality.Room was super clean but one issue was the empty shower gel. Please check these little details, it seems to be a really common problem. Thanks for a wonderful stay! Fabulous team.

The reception staff are professional and helpful, very clean and "Hilton" looking reception and communal areas, ie corridors, lift area etc. The bar and restaurant is good, well presented, nice staff who bring drinks to the table when ordering cocktails etc. We didn't dine here but the food looked good that we saw being brought to other tables.The bedroom however was more budget hotel than "Hilton" hotel when comparing to other hotels in their chain we have used. The hotel rooms are very basic, more like a holiday inn standard. The coffee making facilities were hidden in a cupboard as were water glasses which we only found when hunting to see if there was a blanket as the room was cold. The bathroom suite was an old style bath with mixer shower and shower curtain and the bathroom was tiny! The bath was also very small. Overall, it is like a very budget hotel room and felt overpriced at £185 for one night for this standard and that price did not include breakfast. We chose a Hilton hotel as we wanted a nice room but this was not the case. The bed was comfortable though and the room was clean.Nearby activities: Very good central location, near the dungeons and all main attractions are within a short walking distance.

Far from what one expects from a Hilton, an old hotel that is not the same as old, it urgently needs a deep renovation, a lot of noise at night in the room. It doesn't reach a 3 star hotel. There was no refrigerator in the room. Excellent staff and room.

Worst valet parking drivers, don?t know how to handle customers car.I stayed 3 nights and they took just for parking my brand new car which is a month old, the gearbox is fully damaged and luckily it came to notice before I start my journey. Because of them my entire weekend spoiled and traveling in train. Very worst drivers and don?t know to handle the vehicle.Noteworthy details: Waste facility with dump parking drivers
