Charming, warm, and full of flavor. The interior had a European bistro feel with tile floors and wooden accents. I had the moules frites?mussels in a white wine garlic broth with crispy shoestring fries. It was indulgent and fresh. Dessert was a lemon tart with just the right amount of tang. Service was friendly, and timing was perfect. Ideal for a date night!!!!!!!

It was a nice stay. Room was a good size. Bathroom slightly small but adequate. It is an old building almost next door to York Minster and center of York. Full English breakfast was hearty, cooked well and served hot. We enjoyed. Not sure we would return considering the price. Staff often missed opportunities to interact with guests making our stay feel a little impersonable.

Dropped my phone (with all my cards) in front of this hotel, was able to contact the receptionist immediately on realising. Kept my phone safe with everything in order, and was incredibly kind, very grateful for him!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here with our friends, the Driscolls. The staff were very accommodating. A special shout out to Frank who dealt with all our bags when we arrived, in the rain, before our rooms were ready. The bar area was relaxing whether for an afternoon cuppa or a late night drink. We had breakfast both mornings of our stay and it was served fresh, hot and the prices were extremely reasonable for the hotels city centre location. Our room was comfortable (loved the feature wallpaper) and had a huge window and great view over York Minster. Thank you for making our stay memorable.

Definitely one of the best hotels in York, the location is right opposite York Minster on a quiet road, with all the shops and nice walks close by. I highly recommend the valet parking, just turn up anytime, even before check-in, they will park your car. Hotel staff very friendly, rooms are great, good breakfast.

A wonderful place to stay just across the street from the Minster. Quaint hotel with very friendly staff. Convenient to old city, wall, restaurants, and parks. Would stay again.

Though the hotel is well situated we were promised and paid for a room with a view of York Minster but it was totally not visible. The shower was excellent but the sink smelt of sewage when used. Would expect bottles of water to be provided especially in summertime. The part self serve breakfast was disappointing but the table service menu breakfast was excellent.

Great Location and easy to walk everywhere.
We didn?t expect that are room it will be a disabled room on the grand floor with the disabled toilet and every time when we have shower we need to be careful that the water doesn?t leak on the carpet from the shower room. It will be very nice if they will advise us and let us know that is what they can offer.

Very nice family room - like a small apartment. Very quiet at night. The staff was all extremely friendly and helpful. Unbeatable location in York with the Minster and a lovely park across the street. Delicious breakfast.
